Remarks

It was very well known for its Civil Engineering course, and had a very good placement record for all the branches of Engineering. It is a well decorated university in South India. I qualified it based on the rank secured in its entrance exam.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course was up to date with the AICTE, the curriculum was well planned for all round development, Industrial Training was a compulsory subject so as to provide industrial exposure. The Faculties were very good, most of them were pHd. Srinivasan Sir was my favourite.

Class Size: 50Course Fees: INR 800000 per year

Placement Experience

The placements in my batch were very bad, due to the crash in the market in that year. After demonetisation, the whole construction industry was just destructed, so no company came to the campus for recruiting Civil Engineers. But all other branches had a good placement record.

College Events

The university supported students who wanted to host cultural events, there were a lot of committees to look into such matters. The university was full of diverse students from throughout the country. So almost all the festivals were celebrated in a grandeus manner. I myself was a part of the cultural club. I was one of the founder members of SRM Marathi Mandal.

Campus Life

The campus was spread in 250 acres of land, it was well equipped with facilities for almost all sports. There were sufficient laboratories for all the subjects. There were special labs dedicated for research projects. There was a 4 storeyed centralised Library open to all the students in the campus.

Course Curriculum Overview:

One of the southern indian most famous chemical company is there in our circle and other chemicals companies are there. other then this reason I like the chemistry subject and exciting to learn. In our chemistry department teacher give good preparation for the semester exams. My point of view the exams are easy to write excepting only few subjects.

After 6 semester the students are eligible for all the core and it placements. For us the core companies are Capgemini tech pub(32), sopra steria(5) and boeing . The highest package is 8lpa and average is 5 lpa Out of 100 55 students are getting placed each year. I got placement in Capgemini and I am working on Capgemini.

Is VIT worth it

Placement Experience:

Placements in VIT UNIVERSITY is very good the average package is 8 lakhs and the Highest may go upto 1 crore every year.There is a separate placement cell in VIT chennai and they give you placement training from start of the third year. Many multinational companies like google, microsoft etc comes to VIT to pick students for their company. Almost 98 percent of the students gets places in VIT. After my degree I choose to sit for placements.

SRMIST is superb in all sense!!

I applied at PDEU, Gandhinagar and SRMIST and both colleges admissions were almost done but since my family is from Chennai, we al decided to stay close to home atleast for UG.
