Remarks

I was always passionate about science things, since NIT is a brand name and i couldn’t make it to any good IIT, this is the best option i was left with. The college was close to my home town and the placements were great.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

At my point of being in the institute, there was a huge crunch for faculties. So, only a couple of subjects were taught in a good way. A.K.Singh sir specially taught us brilliantly the Control System Engineering. But yes, we do have the opportunity to go to industries for hands on experience as we were in the city of Tatas

Internships Opportunities

I interned with Tata Steel. It was a campus selection process for PPO. My summer internship (Aspire) was of two months. I was an intern in mills and utilities department. The stipend was 20k for two months.

Placement Experience

4

Since NIT has a brand name of itself, many companies ranging from manufacturing, service sector, finance sector etc visits our college every year. Some of the huge tech giants like Microsoft, Amazon also visits the campus. The placement is almost 100 percent in all the departments except Civil, Production and metallurgy. We also have a very strong alumnus base but they are not that much of use.

College Events

4.5

The campus life was simply great. And there were too many clubs and society to choose from. Literary society, dramatics, art and craft.etc. As well as technical societies from BAJA and SAE. So anyone interested in extra curricular activities, welcome to NIT JSR. We had two main fests ojass(tech fest) and utkarsh (cultural fest) and those were huge. Singers like javed ali has visited our campus. Om puri, mandira bedi, in the tech fest, to name a few. And the participation is huge as well due to the alluring prize money.

Fees and Financial Aid

I was fortunate enough to have won OPJEMS scholarship when I was in my second year. It was a cash prize of 80k along with a silver medal for excellence in academics. I did avail a loan from SBI RIT which is inside the college only. The process was very easy.

Campus Life

3

Infrastructure was poor to average. The hostel facilities were great because it was renovated the year we joined. Apart from that we rarely went to the library due to a very poor librarian who used to curse everyone (hopefully, now she is removed). Yes, the best part was we have LAN connection throughout of hostels. The labs were also in poor state but somehow it was manageable. Coming to the sports equipment it was okay okay. We dint have many indoor sports but towards the end, college started to have many tournaments including hockey as well.

Hostel Facilities

4

I opted for th hostel. For girls it was always on twin basis. The hostel rooms were well ventilated. We had Wi-Fi and LAN ports. Cupboard for both, along with tables. It had a common space where there were games like TT and carrom. A common varandah was there as well and had a badminton courts outside the hostel but inside the hostel premises. The mess was attached with the hostel so it was very convenient to move around and have fun.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

Students from semester 3 are eligible to sit for campus placement. There are even some companies which ask for fresher where student of any semester can apply. The specialised course like CA CS MBA has more placement opportunities. Many companies visits like GARNIER, TCS, GOVERMENT COMPANY _JHALSA. recently around 20 Students are selected in TCS with pacakage of INR 3Lakhs . There is no percentage requirements. Every particular can sit for campus placements. It depends on their skill and ability to impress the interviewers so that they can be placed. Basically there is Group discussion(GD) round and personal interview (PI)round which after qualifying one can get placed in the companies.

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was very fond of mathematics in my intermediate times that's why I chose to do my graduation from BSC Maths Honours. But I chose the wrong college for doing so, which overall ruined my life. After coming to this college, I lost my interest in studies and this is the only thing I gained from this college. So, I would recommend everybody to stay away from this college.
