Remarks

They provide education for less fee. College was far away from city or town.Reaching here is little bit difficult if coming from far places. Ambience of college is good.Supportive teachers.why i chose civil engineering in this college was because it was most sought after course at that time.

Course curriculum is based on MG university guidelines.there is not much change in syllabus.Industrial exposure is provided college every year.industrial visits are conducted. Civil engineering faculty and basic science faculty were good.Maths teacher was the best during our time.

Placements happen only for computer science students.Core engineering students may participate.But they are not placed directly from college to any core companies.Good for IT students.Tough for others.There is a placement cell which coordinates the placement drive in colleges.Entrepreneur cell is pretty active.Few small scale startups were setup.

For first years it will be less engaging.cultural and sports activities are conducted every year.college has a cricket team.has nets to practice cricket and a 7s football field and a volleyball ground.Not maintained very well but adjustable.technical fests are conducted every year.colleges from premises participate in these fests.Not very grand since fund constraints.

Campus Life

Wifi available inside campus.not in hostel.labs are well equipped.All machineries are available.Library is good too.Useful books are available.online library is also provided.has a small football ground,volleyball court and cricket nets.all playing equipments are provided by college for hostlers.

Hostel Facilities

Provide hostel nearby college itself.medium sized rooms enough to occupy 4 people.cleaned daily.12000 per year.Food costs extra.varies per month.hostel facilities are easily available if cash is paid.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Data Science is a rising field in computer science. It has lots of oppurtunities in todays world and easy compared to other fields, which made me choose data science. The curriculum consist of various computer programming languages including Python, R and so on which are vital in the field of data science. There are also experienced faculties for teaching of the programming languages. I personally felt that lab hours are not adequate and also the available hours are also not properly utitlised by some teachers. At the end of each semester we have exams and results are published soon as the exams are over, no lagging compared to other universitites.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

The college has 3 types of seats. Merit seats, management seats, and NRI seats. Merit seats are filled by students who scored high rank and marks in the KEAM entrance examination. The fees for these students will be 15k to 20k per semester. Management seats are filled by those students who have registered for the KEAM exam but couldn't qualify for the examination or those who got low ranks and marks in the entrance. The fee structure of these students will be anywhere from 30k to 35k per semester. NRI seats are filled by those students who did not appear for the KEAM entrance examination or belong to any other state other than Kerala, or students who came from a different country. These students sometimes have to pay a small amount of donation during the time of admission. Those students have to pay about 50k to 60k per semester....Read More
