Remarks

The college life at DBS is worth the fun! You explore, communicate, learn and grow here. I really fall short of words when I need to explain my experience here. this college has given me the best times of my life. The best learnings, the best exposure and the best life?

Course Curriculum Overview

Yes. The course structure is well developed and covers all the aspects. There are a lot of practical experimentation processes taught to students so that they can learn the concept much clearly. We had regular presentations, brain storming session, focus group discussions etc. Industrial visits were organised to various industries like Hero Moto Cops, Haridwar, Patanjali, HaridwarParle G factory, NainitalSEBI visit and certification, SEBI dehradun etc. There were a lot of guest lectures organized too.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement and internships go on an average scale. However I believe placement totally depends upon a students callibre and potential to hit the market. The tentative percent is like from my batch 70% the rest did not opt for placements as they wanted to start with their own business. We were given special training sessions to appear in the interviews. They helped us prepare in market ready group discussions and personal interview rounds. We had a lot of mock rounds for the same.

College Events

5

We have an annual frst of the college called MANFEST which has inter and intra college competition and colleges from all the parts of the country participate in this fest. Dance, music, brain games, races, quizes, debates, football matches etc are a part of this fest. There is a winter fest called UTSAV which is intra college cultural fest for the college. Competition is done between various departments of the college. Apart from this we have football competitions, matka fod competition (janmashtami) and other such interesting activities are done. Annual budget sessions, alumni meets, group outings etc are all organized.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee breakdown is transparent. And it is divided clearly between trimesters. The mode of payment is through cheque, NEFT or card payment too. There are no additional fees or charges that were charged from the students apart from the fines that they paid because of their faults. There were no other charges required to be paid for the admission. However, 1000/- registration fee for GDPI sessions and college enrollment, 10000/- security deposit, 50000/- admission fee was given already in the fee breakup.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

Yes the college does offer scholarship opportunities. A student needs to score more than 85% in the entrance exam. Student directly can avail for it by writing a letter to the account department by providing proof of the documents required to avail the same. 50% waive off is given and in some cases even more. This is waived off partly in all the trimesters. For this the student needs to fulfill certain conditions: needs to have more than 75% attendance in all the trimesters and also shall score above 70%

Campus Life

The gender ratio is 60:40 (boys:girls), there are a lot of clubs in the college from travel club to marketing, finance, music, art, dance, sports club. They have an ampitheatre, basketball court, football court, badminton court, table tennis, pool table, and a lot more to explore and these are extensively open for hostel students even after the college hours. People from India and abroad are a part of various courses. There is no gender or race biasness in the college. They are very supportive and open to welcome any new thoughts and ideas. Students from all kinds of economic backgrounds are a part of various courses that are held in the college and there are no bias problems arising. The atmosphere is friendly and everyone is amiable. You will actually not miss home when you are here. And this is the truth. This will become your home.

Hostel Facilities

Yes. I had opted for the hostel. The hostel is very clean, situated within the campus and has facilities like a common area at each floor, there are balcony rooms, double and tripple seater rooms available. Geysers, godrej cupboards, study table, fan, light, beds with bed boxes are available. The rooms are well painted. They have mess facility that provides breakfast, lunch, evening tea and snacks and dinner. Sunday has special one time lunch and breakfast and evening tea. The hostel students are given free bus facility to go to the city (main market) every weekend. The hostel fee is 110000/- per year for a room with a balcony and that is double seater. They have laundry facility the charges of which are covered in the above rates. There is a maid that regularly comes to clean the rooms.

Alumni/Alumna

They have an annual alumni meet wherein a lot of alumnis come to the college. Their records are taken and they are connected with the present students in order to improve the linking and get industry support too. The alumnis have worked with great brands like Zee, Balaji Telefilms, AXIS bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Airtel, Deloitte etc. and international companies too. College seniors and alumnis have helped us a lot go through the course and also helped in getting placements and internships.

Admission

I appeared for CMAT examination and with the help of CMAT scores I was shortlisted. After this I had a GDPI session and got selected on that basis. Students also have been selected on the basis of MAT and CAT scores. I chose this institution because of the following reasons:1. Past Alumni reviews and conversations2. The wide curriculum it offers3. The extra certifications this course provides. 4. Selection of dual specialisation5. Location6. Fee structure.

Faculty

4

The faculties have extra ordinary experience and an excellent professional and educational background. They try not to by the book to book studying rather they help in arranging the best practical ways by which the students can learn the aspects clearly. They all have an excellent industry experience and they are alumnus from IIM's and other elite colleges. There are a lot of doubt clearance sessions and timings allotted.

It's not an easy task to maintain the reputation every year and being a place to top the list. Even the foreign students eagerly await to enhance their learning over here.

Remarks:

My college provides an environment that is best for overall personality development. one negative thing I noticed that despite strict rules students indulged in smoking and drinking to great extent. After caught in such activities they were released without any strict action by posing a fine of 2000 to 10000 on them.
