Masters in medical sciences

Couse is very detailed. Similar to whatthe Master of Doctorate students study. This is a three year course. The first year is combined for all the masters courses, that is Masters of Anatomy, physiology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry and Microbiology. Fist years have three subjects Biochemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, both theory and Practicals. Second year is only labs with few internal exams and the final exam is in the third year.

Since this is a medical college, ther is no oppertunity for placements. When I was a student I had brought up the topic of placements but this never happened as more importance was alwasy given to the Doctors and not teh post graduated that were present tyhere.

Again since this is a medical college not too many activities, except for the college day when all the different facuties come together to celebrate it. Also the post graduation students have a party every year. This is the one and only even to look forward to every year in this institition.

This course is very very expensive and the institution concentrated more on the money that Quality education. The college does however provide a trasparency in teh fee structure. There arent any additional fees taht the original course fee that is given in the fee structure.

I had availed for an education loan from corporation bank. we got the loan after completion of each year. If we failed teh first year, teh loan was not given to tus. No scholarship was provided.

Gendr ratio was always Boys is to gals with the boys being higher in number. There were abolutely no Workshopsor cultural activities except the college day. Ther was equal tolerance with regards to gender, ethnicity, race, relegion and sexual orientation.

No I have never opted for staying in teh hostel. However I have alwasy had several frds who have stayed here. The hostel fees although expensive has provided the best facilities. The rooms are really good and so is the food and all other facilities.

The seniors are good as long as you have known them from earlier. Else they are snotty and dont respect the Juniors and arnt really helpful.

I got admission through interview, Joined becaus eI was interested in research, Havd to either give an entrace exam or get a reference, or get am interview inorder to get admissions. Ther are two campuses, one in Manipal and one in Mangalore. I was admitted at th eMangalore institition. Mangalore has 3 different campuses. One is in Bejai, one in Jyothi and another in light house Hill.

The total number of lecturer vary based on the topics we have. There are several lectures in each dept. The dept Head is about 47 years and is a MBBS Doctor. They are very good and knowledgeble. Most of the lecturereshave had several papaers published and have also been part of conferences and have presented their papers there.
