Course Curriculum Overview
Since it is SNDT University affiliate. The syllabus and the grading system differs from what Mumbai university has. The subjects are different too. There are many industrial visits which students are part of. But none benefitting us or rather grooming us to be a good professional in a specific field.
Placement Experience
Yes foundation, wipro are the companies that I am aware of. Out of 100 only 15-20 students get placements or get selected for internships.
College Events
Melange the media fest, Techno media, Avahaan the sports fest, paper presentations, and also many administrative level fests. All fest are inter-collegiate and Participation is from many neighbouring colleges and also from different departments in the college.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees for BA BCom section is feasible but fees for professional courses like mass media and BCA is too much for a women's college. Leverage is given considering the financial background of the students. But there is an addition fee mass media students are asked to pay for an add-on course which doesn't seem legit and the faculty to teach those courses are not really worth that extra fee.
Fees and Financial Aid
No college does not provide any scholarships for the professional course. I availed for scholarship from different non-profit.
Campus Life
Since it is a women's college there are married women and also the freshers, single mothers who take admission in our college. Talking about religion there is no discrimination based on race, caste religion Infact all the religion and beliefs are welcome and respected. Extra curricular like labs and even library are not accessible. Students are not allowed to go to the library. And there is a section of NSS if the students wish they can participate in it. And also there is an annual event called "YUVA" or "Youth" it is a competition between all the affiliates of sndt University where we have all sports, literary, arts, drama events.
Alumni/Alumna
The only interaction we have with our seniors is during events and they are not really helpful. And alumnis are not in touch with the students.
Admission
After 12th I took a drop for a year and was hunting for admission in mass media. Since I'm female, a teacher suggested I go to this college and the admission process was offline. I visited the college and got admissions really fast. No havoc, but was really not impressed by the infrastructure and the crowd.
Faculty
Average age of the faculty would be 30-35 and the qualification would be masters and doctorate. Clarity on the subject is not really much. We have to understand and study the subjects on our own. And yes some teachers do hold industry experience but 2 out of 5 teachers have the experience.
