Remarks

The hostel provided by the college is very strict. They didn't even let us have a refund the 3rd day we stayed there. It creates a lot of divide.Rich kids having fancy hostels and normal kids with low level of living.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is relevant and the teaching pattern is practical related rather than just theory. It focused on industry specific knowledge with the sessions. The campus placements are also good enough. There were industrial visits every semester.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement of the college is good.We have a career development course in the curriculum to help improve aptitude and soft skills.Faculty also helps improve our resume.I have availed an internship in my second year and have been interning at Midas R&D Centre at Mumbai.

College Events

4.5

There are numerous event happening at rhe college all year.National Technical Fest. Arts fest Milan, American Society of Civil Engineering Association chapter conducts International Canoe Challenge at SRM. International Conferences I'm various specialties happen at college as well.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is quite feasible. They charge 1.75L per year for the 2 year course I completed.Out of 3.5L I have paid for the tuition feea they have given us back 2.95L as they provide stipend of 12.4k rupees monthly for the entire 2 years.Though the hostel and accommodation fees are beyond this,it was still a huge relief.

Fees and Financial Aid

I guess there were scholarships available which I failed to check out.I did not avail any scholarships.

Campus Life

The gender ratio of the college is almost equal.Even in male dominated streams such as Mechanical engineering, there were enough girls enrolled. The campus life is really something worth cherishing. We are open to a lot of workshops, trainings and so on.We get to interact with a diverse crowd.

Hostel Facilities

I opted for hostel in the first year and as I was unaware of the facilities I enrolled myself for the hostel and paid the full amount before I visited the hostel.Theu converted apartments of 9-10 storeys in hostels by providing 2,3 and 4 sharing rooms.I was in a 4 sharing room with no AC and the curfew is maddening.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors were very welcoming and always helped us with an expert opinion regarding which electives to opt for and the project undertaken. There are a few clubs which involves alumnus helping students become entrepreneurs and get their own start up set up.

Admission

I was interested in Structural Design and wish to work in the design field.I found SRM University was a prominent University with NBA accreditation with reasonable fees. The course curriculum seemed relevant and also offered a lot of opportunitiesAs I'm from Kerala,it was also closer to home.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty are very knowledgeable, experienced and always open to helping students. Many of our faculty have PhDs as well. Many are currently pursuing PhD.The faculty always strive to keep themselves updated with the latest developments in the specific field.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well designed and covered both fundamental and advanced concepts. We choose elective papers each sem one paper from third sem. That selection of elective papers made us to do case study of real world exposure and competency. The curriculum prepared us for the reasonable real world applications. Also workshops and internships bridged the gap between industry expectations and academics. The teaching methods are really supportive and knowledgeable. On the whole the curriculum was strong and but needs to be imapctful.

Placement Experience:

From the 4th semester, itselft students get to know about the placement training and pre placements talks were held to students who is interested in the placement. They will undergo aptitude, programming and soft skills training. So the companies visiting our colleges are service-based companies which are accenture , TCS, Deloitte and product based companies such as Zoho hiring for 6-10 LPA. Accenture offers a package of 3.4 LPA where as Fractal Analysis company offers a package of above 10 LPA The placed students in my department is 70% which is a big number if the training is effective there will be more than 80%students will get placed.
