The job placement percentage was high, one of the pioneer college for hospitality, good campus, hostel inside the college campus, mess food is very good. The college was ranked in top 5 in 2017 for hospitality.

The course is very helpful for learning the basics of Hotel industry and also the management part of it. Some of it is outdated and needs to be revised. 4 month industrial training is part of the curriculum, so a student goes through 4 months training in a 5 star hotel which gives the industrial exposure. Mr. Vinay Namjoshi is a very good and senior faculty for Front office, facility planning and strategy management.Mr. Sanjit Majhi is the senior faculty for culinary and is very experienced.

Grand hyatt kochi, Kerala - stipend - 2000 per month. Worked in core departments of hotel like front office, culinary, housekeeping and food and beverage service. The students fill up a form with 5 companies or hotels they want to do internship in. Then the training coordinator invites those hotels to take interview, and the student who clears the interview gets selected.

Companies that come for campus are- Hyatt, Oberoi group, Accor hotel, IHG, McDonald's, Taco bell, reliance, Welcome group, ITC(off campus). The placement department is handled by a faculty. The placement coordinator is not that good, the placement program needs to be revamped.

Yearly National Seminar is held in which faculties and board members of other IHMs and NCHMCT are invited, it is a 2 day function, which includes the annual day as well. Many students take part in the national seminar in several roles such as culturals, front office, housekeeping, culinary, valet, ticket sales, marketing, etc. there's annual food festival like Chattisgarh food festival, annual students Exchange program in which 6-7 students are exchanged with another IHM.

We have annual sports day with sports like volleyball, basketball, football, Cricket, etc. There's a basketball court and a volleyball court. For cricket, a ground is rented. The library is big enough to accommodate 80 students at once and has all the required books for Hospitality. IHM Ahmedabad has 3 restaurants for practice of students, one of them is a veg restaurant and has a huge students mess. There are practice kitchen equipped with good tools, some of the tools and equipment needs to be changed but rest is good. From 2019 all the classes are equipped with Projectors and air conditioners.

The hostel is alloted rank wise to the freshmen, 110-120 1st semester students get the hostel. The hostel fee is subsidized and was 20000 rs per semester from 2017 to 2020. The 2nd year and 3rd year boys get hostels based on their attendance and academics and overall behaviour and the seats are 20-30 for 2nd and 3rd year boys each. All the girls can get hostel if they apply for it. The rooms are single sharing, double sharing and triple sharing. Generally 1st year students are given triple sharing room. There's a common toilet on each floor. There's a common room in ground floor with a television and table tennis setup. There's a water-cooler in each floor. The hostel gates are guarded 24 hours. The mess food that is breakfast, lunch and dinner are good. Generally dinner is the best among the three meals. A cupboard, a bed, mattress, a table and a chair is provided in the hostel room.
