Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum for my course was very direct and it required me to go through enough study material before forming my answers to be able to cover every pointer. The examination question are very direct however, the answer needs to cover all the points for the student to get a satisfactory score in the end.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement cell is doing an average work. Most of the students find themselves getting a job during the recruitment process. The internships offered by the cell can improve as generally, the call for internships comes exclusively from startups that don't offer paid internships.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The yearly fee is Rs. 1860/- which is peanuts. Even a lower class family can afford the college despite their financial battles they face on everyday basis. I come from a middle class family so, my parents believed that I was joking about the fees.

Campus Life

Indoor and outdoor games are available for participation for the students. The college organising events for various performing arts and sports activities. I always had a flair for dance so, I would actively participate in the college events.

Hostel Facilities

The college is in the process of preparing hostels for boys and girls. There would be 100 seats available for the girls which was under construction when I left the college. Indeed, it would be a great idea as girls would have to take PGs and come from far off places to reach college.

Alumni/Alumna

All the information about the alumnis are given on the official website. Some of names of the notable alumnis that have passed out from the college given below:- https://www.samsicollege.ac.in/samsi_college/alumni_detail.php

Admission

The admission process is all about the merit list. A student has to keep in touch with the official website to get latest notifications on the admissions and fill the online form whenever it arrives before the deadline. The cost for the submission of the registration form is Rs. 300/-.

Mr. Souti Basu was the teacher in charge of my department. He was indeed very motivating as he would personally interact with batches to know the progress of their syllabus and if the students were facing any issues.

Course Curriculum Overview:

There are several prospects, especially peer-to-peer counseling, where you get a mentor. We call it mentor mentee program. So, there will be groups of students, and each group will have a mentor who helps you whenever you face any issues whether in real life or in your academic journey. They’re always there for you. There are also remedial classes, and extracurricular activities are included in the curriculum. You even get the freedom to choose what you want to pursue creatively, like joining poetry clubs and similar groups. Right now, I’m at Banaras University, and the curriculum here is really good. We have sessions on public speaking, how to conduct interviews, and many other practical skills. These are highly commendable because they help you in professional situations like the one I’m in now. However, I would say that teachers could be a bit more active with electronic tools like using PPT presentations or audio-visual methods instead long lecture sessions. As for exams, I wouldn’t say they’re too difficult because there are many weekly assessments and sessionals, which actually help you evaluate yourself better.
