Course Curriculum Overview

It is a 3 year course divided into 4 semesters. The course relates to diagnosis, prevention and treatment of maxillofacial and dental diseases. The subjects of area include oral and maxillofacial radiography, applied basic sciences, therapeutics and oral medicine and lastly the laboratory investigations which train the students to become professionals in dentistry and to use the techniques in recognizing diseases/ oral tissues of constitutional and local origin with their management.

Placement Experience

The job roles offered to the students are dental surgeons, assistant general manager, oral pathologist, dental lab technician, professor etc. The average annual salary ranges from 4 to 10 LPA. Most of my batch mates choose to go for the government sector and the other became professors to teach the students in the university relating to radiology and oral medicine.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The total fees for 3 years is 12.87 lakh. This fees include tuition fees, health insurance, club membership fees, library deposit, hostel and mess food, shuttle bus charges, caution deposit amount etc. The fees is a little bit expensive for me but if I see the teachers and the facilities that has been provided to us then it is quite acceptable.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are offered to top scorers in NEET-PG examinations. The students who have family income of less than 2 LPA are given 20% concession for the first semester. Other scholarship include ex-servicemen, army personal and freedom fighter.

Campus Life

Conferences on risk and benefits involved in smoking and quitting, environmental changes, pollution control, public health dentistry etc are held in our college once in every month. Sports activities such as football, basketball, table tennis, badminton, swimming etc are also conducted in this college. National festivals such as republic day, Independence day, Makar sakranti, Gandhi Jayanti are celebrated with joy and happiness and the aim is to narrow the regional differences between the students belonging to different states.

Admission

You need to have a BDS degree with 50% marks from a recognized university. The admission is done on the basis of the NEET-PG entrance exam. The seats are reserved under all India quota or state quota. 5% seats are also reserved for SC/ST/OBC. A merit list will be prepared on NEET-PG score and the seats will be allotted on the basis of the counselling session which is conducted by KEA.

Faculty

The teachers are very very experienced in their course and helps in explaining the concepts of pathology, applied anatomy, diagnostic methods and applied oral pathology in a very easy and interesting manner. We are given practical exposure so that we get adequate knowledge of treating and diagnosing patients and providing them a solid base in dentistry.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered is moderate and there are limited opportunities for high paying roles compared to top tier colleges. Companies that visit the campus are mostly small to mid sized organizations. The placement cell is very supportive and conduct training sessions such as aptitude tests, mock interviews and soft skills development to prepare students for placements.
