Life worth remembering

The college is one of the premier technical institutes of the country and also reflects the same in all fields . The only bad remark about the institute is that is operates in a temporary campus and does not have a campus of its own.

I took BITSAT exam in which I got 314 marks and could have got any lower preference branch. I also gave IIT JEE exam and got AIR 4403.On the basis of my AIR I got admitted to IIT Jodhpur in Electrical Engineering branch.

The course curriculum is slightly hectic and overburdened but it imparts good technical knowledge. We have six courses in each semester in which one course belongs to Human Sciences and other five are technical courses.We have an option to choose electives from 3 rd year onwards.

The college offers a IIp(Industry Immersion Program) in which various Industries like TATA powers, Mahindra and Mahindra , TVS etc take students of 1 st year as interns . This program is especially for 1 st year students to give them a exposure to the professional world ahead. The general stipend offered is about 5-8 thousand rupees per month.

The placements of the college are not as good as expected from an IIT. The average placement of students is about 80% with an average package of about 5 lakh rupees per annum. Renowned companies like TATA powers , TVS, Mahindra & Mahindra , Morgan Stanley and also many startup participate in the placement season

Being a government the fee structure was not too high. A normal Btech student has to pay 45 thousand rupees as fees and hostel fees was around 12 thousand along with mess fees of about 24 thousand rupees per semester.

The institute hostels have a State Bank Branch of its own which makes all kinds of financial issues very easy. The institute offers MCM scholarships every to students who belong to SC/ST category according to which a student gets tuitions fee redemption of around 40 thousand rupees per annum and also can avail 3 free books from the library every semester.

The campus life is amazing with various kinds of fun as well as hectic situations that we face. Although the gender ratio is very poor (our batch has only 4 girls out of 120 students) . The campus is ragging free and alcohol free and also free from all kinds of students politics. All the students are from well educated background and there I never faced any problem regarding race, religion , sexual orientation , politics or economic status.

The hostel life was awesome due to friends .Talking about the facilities we had a Hostel Management Committee that took care of all our hostel problems and the mess food was also appreciable for the cost that we were charged.

The interaction with seniors is a great and unexpected experience. Since the strength of students in the institute is small therefor all the students know each other personally .

Two mid semester exams were conducted and then finally one end semester exams were conducted in a span of about four months along with regular quizzes conducted by the professors . Three Labs were conducted weekly. So over all the Structure was very hectic.

The faculty of institute is highly qualified and all the professors have minimum M. Tech or PhD degree. The faculty seems to enjoy teaching and helps students wherever possible.
