Course Curriculum Overview
The duration of the course is two years where the course curriculum describes in detail the physiological process which is carried by the major tissues/ organ system/regulatory mechanism which affect the animals. The subjects of study include diagnostic procedures, clinical practices, metabolic diseases in animals, veterinary microbiology & parapsychology, equine medicine etc.
Placement Experience
Our college records 80% placement record every year.Top recruiters that came during my batch were CPDO,Mysore zoo, bannerghatta biological park, CCBF, SLBTC etc. Most of the students took to government sector, others went for teaching in the relevant subject in a private university.The salary offered ranges from 40,000 to 1.5 L per month. Internships were also offered to students in NGOs, hospitals and public heath care sector. The average stipend for the same was fixed at 14,000 per month.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The tuition fees for one year is 12,645.The registration & admission charges are 1766 and 1936 respectively. The total for two years is 77,793 after including all the other charges. The fees structure is nominal from my point of view.
Campus Life
Sports activities such as football, volleyball, table tennis, chess, basketball etc are held at our college to boost the morale of students to participate more. Conferences on save the girl child, public health & awareness programs, veterinary microbiology etc. Quizzes and industrial field trips are also conducted to provide a practical exposure to the students.
Admission
You need to have a Bachelors degree in the respective field with at least 6/10 CGPA or equivalent percentage of marks from a recognized university. 5.5/10 is the criteria for the reserved category. A written test is conducted by the KVAFSU which needs to be qualified. Students with score cards of UGC-NET/SET/JRF are also eligible to apply. You can apply for the course online and fill in the necessary details and pay the fees. Later a merit list will be prepared taking into consideration the scores in both the examination.You can check the list on the college website based on which you will be granted admission in the college.
Faculty
The faculty members are well experienced and are very helpful. They teach us how to treat the animals with the methods such as medical, clinical, dental, surgical & diagnostic applications.We are explained subjects related to veterinary medicine, public heath, anatomy, surgery etc so that we get in depth knowledge of the course curriculum and are able to develop historical perspective which is required for health promotion and disease prevention.
