Manav Rachna is a good college

I live in faridabad, and after my 12th my parents wanted me to study near home. This became the very first reason for my selection of manav rachna as a college. Also someone in my relation who runs his own engineering college in Chandigarh told me that in india all private engineering colleges are equal when it comes to the study and degree value, except Bits Pilani. And the faculty of the mechanical department of the college were young, friendly, knowledgeable and very helping in nature. During my 4yrs at the college I was lucky enough to publish a research paper in a scopus indexed journal due to the help of the teachers.

The faculty members are very friendly in nature and the have a good hold on their respective subjects or research fields. And as far as the course curriculum is concerned the college covers all the topics that are included in Gate and IES exams.

During the 6th semester their were a couple of companies that came to the college for both paid and non-paid internships. Here, every company had their own subject specific aptitude tests and then the selected students were called for interviews. Taking about myself i did my 2.5 months training at ACE (Action construction limited), Palwal, which is the indian market leader in mobile tower cranes and tractors.

The mechanical department had upto 80-85% placements in top companies. The top recruiters were Tata Steel, Stryker, Indigo and Maruti suzuki.

During my time the fee was 1,65,000 rupees per year. The college also offers scholarships too. They have 100% tuition fee scholarship for students having 90% or more in their 12th standard, 50% for those who have 85-90% and 25% for those who have marks between 80 and 85%. I had 25% scholarship during my 4 yrs. Also 7 cgpa or more is needed per semester for the continuation of the same. Taking about the mechanical department there was a placement of about 80 to 85% students in my batch which include both campus placements and personal approach jobs. Also, the top recruiters for mechanical jobs were Tata Steel, Indigo, Stryker, Accenture and Maruti Suzuki.

They have a 70 acre campus. With a world class library and eating joints. Also there is no bullying or ragging. We all also used to play cricket during our 4 yrs under 100 rupee bets with other teams.

I was interviewed by the various HODs of the various engineering streams. They firstly questioned about 12th standard knowledge and then they briefed about various streams and helped me in choosing the correct one for my 4 yrs.
