Remarks

College management is not that good. it needs a lot of improvement. Students often organised strikes to get their demands. But in recent years it is improving. IITBHU introduced a student parliament 2 years back which is having a very positive impact on management.

Entrance Preview

IIT-JEE : I picked IIT-BHU mostly because I was interested to get a branch I would like i.e. CS or electronics rather than picking a college with a not-interesting branch.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Education wise IIT-BHU was an average institute. In Electroncis Engg the courses taught were not very useful, but students who were really interested found their ways to excel in the field. One will have to show interest talk to profs and study out of the course to pursue a career in electronics. You can not just rely on the curriculum. Electives were not allowed to us, but I heard that it is now allowed.

Internships Opportunities

It was easy to get interns if you belong to CS you can easily get 30K per month or more on interns but if you belong to some other branch, it will be quite difficult and you will probably have to apply on your own. Btw getting foreign interns is easier because of the IIT tag. I my self did 3 foreign interns in my college days. But you will have to standout of other students to get good interns.

Placement Experience

5

Placement opportunities are boosting year by year, for CS, EC, MNC and EE there are hell lot of opportunities. many MNCs come to campus and almost 80-90% of these branch students are placed very easily. If you take another branch you will again have to stand out to get a good placement.but this case is same everywhere, I mean in other IITs too. Placement wise I think IIT-BHU is really doing very well.

College Events

5

There are way too many opportunities in every field you want to go.let it be cultural, sports, technical, photography.College events are all national level and if you go by this perspective every IIT has great events lots of funds and it helps students to proceed as per their passion. You might get to learn a little politics though, but thats I fine I guess. College events are really huge considering that it is in Varanasi, they are not like IITB of IITD but still they are just behind them.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Since in became IIT fees is increased a lot. But being a govt institute it is still much better compared to private ones. I think it is around 55K per semester plus food extra.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are few policies, for students whose family income below some 3/4 lpa. I do not have a lot of details on this.

Campus Life

3.5

Being a part of BHU, IIT BHU have a lot to do as extracurriculars. This is a point on which you will never be disappointed once you join. There are literature events, robotics events happen almost every month organized by different departments. Sports is great the sport fest is really renowned one.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel and Mess facilities are not good but this is the part where students grow as Men/Women from a boy/girl. Atmosphere inside hostel teaches you to adjust and face difficulties. It is necessary to make friends to survive, you social skills will develop alot here. Initially students feel that these facilities sucks but soon they realize that this is great and after college those moments are the most nostalgic ones. I gives you great learnings for which you will appreciated for rest of your life.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network base is strong, being a very old institute many great personalities you know are from IIT-BHU or former IT-BHU or even former BENCO. Alumni are all over the world in politics, MNCs, Administration, everywhere.

Exam Structure

Exams are not that harsh, if you do last night studies it will be just fine for you. Getting high marks is not what people go for here. Students who want to learn learn for fun others just try to pass, very few students actually try to be competitive. Exams patterns are same since years so pervious year's papers help you a lot. Overall exams are chill not much to take tension about.

Placement Experience:

Integral University in the third of engineering asks us to take time out for placements training. Students who haven't done any internships are asked to do one or attend the workshops organized at the university. Thus in the final year, we are fully prepared and companies also are never disappointed as maximum students clear the interviews with ease.

My college has an average placement of 6LPA. Placement eligibility starts from the end of 5th semester, but when I got promoted to 5th semester, placements declined due the the restructuring in placement cell. So our batch missed the opportunity to attend any placements. In year 2022, the highest placement was around 22LPA and in year 2023, it declined to 9 LPA as there was restructuring in team. After getting my degree I will look for carrier opprotunities on my own, as I have not experienced any placement in my college years.
