2 Years in Review

Positive all the way! Though I am still to complete my final year, I am in no doubt that Syamsundar College has paved the way for me to achieve my dreams. I have learnt how to work hard and shoot for the stars here!

The B.Sc Hons course in Botany is a 3 Year course divided into 6 semesters. In these semesters we are taught a variety of subjects spanning the length and breadth of botany- we have oral and written exams throughout the course.

Yes, college is instrumental in us securing valuable internships across several fields. Top companies like Amul and Dabur also visit our college every year during campussing for recruiting bright students with potential.

The fee structure is divided into an annual basis. For B.Sc Botany course, the fee to be paid in the first year is Rs 4370 and the next two years is Rs 4117. This is not too hard on the pocket and falls within budget for most students.

The college charges science students more than Arts students on account of the expense of labs. And I must say, it is totally justified. The labs have every single equipment we may need to perform advanced experiments!

The admission process is completely online and fairly simple. If you have secured 55% and above in your Class XII board marks, you are eligible to apply to the college. Then, you will be granted admission if your name features in the merit list released.

Dr Sudip Chatterjee is our Head of the Department and he, along with the other teachers in the department, are full of enthusiasm when it comes to taking classes. They are all well-qualified for the jobs with all having M.Sc degrees and some even a Ph.D.
