CAT. My score was 96.33. I was very clear that I want to pursue marketing. MICA is the only school which gives options to enhance one's understanding in Brand Management, Account Planning, Market Research and Media Management.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course structure was good with high focus on research. Projects and Assignments are such that research was an integral part of the same, either in the form of primary or secondary research. I have done researches for various projects like an assignment on the Mall design, primary research with consumers of DTH services, Primary research with women on Lingerie.

Placement Experience

4

Ours was a recession year. Still, we could achieve 100% placements. Companies that came were EnY, Sony, Star TV, Virgin Mobile, Vodafone, IMRB, Madison, Big FM, Cairn Energy, Mudra, Research International, Musigma, etc. to name a few.Annual Packages offered were from 2.5 lacs to 18 lacs.

College Events

4.5

MICANVAS: 3 day Annual Marketing fest starting with various competitions ranging from academic to talent related and histrionics. The fest culminated into a Rock show with Parikrama performing in 2008-09.SANKALP: Histrionics society which showcases regular plays on the campus apart from an annual 3-4 day event where the Play were showcased for puter public.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is expensive. It was 8 lacs for the flagship course in 2007-09.It has been long since I graduated, I do not remember the break up of the fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship was given at the end of the course. Major one was to the person who achieves 90% CGPA over 2 yrs. Apart from this, there were cash prizes for highest grade in each specialization.

Campus Life

5

Gender ratio was 60:40 Male:Female. Parties were pretty regular. Extra curricular activities: Regular Cricket/ Football matches with IIMs and other colleges; Regular screening of Plays and Movies. I am a north indian and have hardly come across people from south. Like for us North Indians, everyone from south is a Madrasi. Also, I have never met anyone who were into rapping, jamming etc. It was only during my stay at MICA that I met these people and made friends with them. It was actually a self development.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel rooms were great. In the first year, it was on a twin sharing basis with two single beds and 2 cupboards. In the second year, each student gets a single room. Mess has amazing food and hygiene is maintained to the optimum. A mess comm society was f

Alumni/Alumna

Helpfulness of the alumni depends on how immediate/close are their passing years to one's own. My immediate seniors were pretty helpful and welcoming. I have had a couple of experiences with them. Otherwise also, there is a sense of belonging ness if you meet any MICAN from any batch.

Exam Structure

Exams and labs were not that frequent that it leaves one tired and exhausted. Grading system was on exams as well as various projects/ assignments given. Assignments were either group assignments or individual; either classroom assignments or take home.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty was highly qualified and extremely interested in passing on the knowledge and understanding of the subject matter. Faculty were highly experienced professors and industry professionals. For most of the courses, We had people coming from the indust
