Remarks

We have an outlet of Cafe Coffee Day in our campus, a huge auditorium, beautiful Amphitheater and Campus Plaza, healthcare facilities available 24*7 for everyone inside the campus and a huge library with many amazing books. We also have other infrastructures like seminar hall, photography studio, audio-visual library etc.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum here for mass communication is very interesting and satisfying as well. Students are also encouraged to attend live talk shows as part of the curriculum. We have subjects like media ethics, video editing, tv reporting like crime reporting etc. The exams and practicals have good gap that allows us to have chilled days.

Placement Experience

5

The placements and job opportunities rates of our college is very high. A lot of reputed and well-settled government and well as private news channels and companies visit our college for recruitment like Google, Times Now, NDTV, Radio Mirchi etc every year. Yes, our college provides great internship programs to students, like I was doing my internship with Zee News which gave me direct exposure to the news, hand-on training, work experience and stipend as well.

College Events

5

They are a number of fascinating events and cultural programs, that our college hosts every year for uplifting students talents. For example Sanskritam is a cultural program where students showcase different forms of art related to classical folklore, The East Side Story (TESS) is a annual film festival, also DZMA which is Design and Media Festival, and a lot more events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure of this college, when compared to other colleges, is pretty high but can be afforded and can be paid on a yearly basis also. The total fees for 3 years are nearly Rs 8.5 lakhs and in return provides great placements and internships as well, amazing learning experience, various cultural and other activities.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college provides really great and exciting scholarships/loan facilities for meritorious students. Students who are academically excellent including extra-curricular activities, Symbiosis Society Foundation offers amazing scholarships or awards to deserving students. Sports scholarships are available to students who performs outstanding in athletes and merit scholarships are for those who are really great in academics.

Campus Life

We have several seminars, workshops, sports tournaments and other activities competitions that are hosted by our college every year like In True Spirit is the sports event for three days in the field of cricket, football etc, we have other annual meets as well. No student is discriminated on any basis and there is no partiality as well. We also have various clubs like Design club, Dance Club, Sports Club, Advertising Club and so much more.

Hostel Facilities

Yes, I had opted for hostel facilities which is very nice and I liked it, I would rate the hostel infrastructure and facilities 9 out of 10 as we have almost everything starting from spacious hostel rooms, gym facilities with trainers and instructors, attached bathrooms and cupboards etc. I really miss my hostel.

Alumni/Alumna

The best thing that our college has is Alumni Relations Cell, that is quite helpful to be in close touch with fellow juniors, which was once upon a time assisted us to talk with alumni about various better placements options, details about internships etc.

Admission

symbiosis college conducts a 2 stage admission process for this course. After filling the application with a minimum of 55% from a recognized board, I had to undergo for an entrance test called the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) and as I was scored eligible marks in the test, I was selected for an interview with document verification that finally resulted in my admission in this college.

Faculty

5

The college has the most cooperative, friendly and knowledgeable faculty members on board. They just have excellent method of teaching and conducting practicals as well. The classroom lectures are very interesting and informative at the same time. They also take regular lectures.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As this college is under mumbai university so this college cannot modify syallbus in their own the have to strictly follow the university prescribe syallbus, academic timelines, rules and norms of the mumbai university. I have taken the admission in this college in the year 2024 from this year the NEP-2020 was adopted by the every indian universities and instituites. Since NEP-2020 was adopted also by mumbai university some new subjects are added to the syallabus that are oriented to financial literacy,Entreprenuianl, indian laws related subjects the syallubus of this subject is very good to see in the syallabus pdf. But the ground reality is different this subject is not given much importance by faculties the are treated as not much important subject as their are not related to our course as a result the students also take these subjects lightly. Also the professors appointed for this subjects are not much good they appoint the faculties who are recent graduates of their college who are working now as a professor in the same college. The college treat this subject lectures as an practice for the fresh faculties to gain experience of how to teach students. The core subject syallbus is same not changed the mumbai university has just changed the name of the subject. The college professors just teach the subject but they do not teach in that way that it makes us ready for real world problems. And also in the first year all the subjects are common for all the branches of the engineering which consist of subject like physics, chemistry, mechanics,Basic electrical Electronics,Engineering Graphics. It is my opinion why should an student who is studying an course called Computer Engineering so why should i read the subjects of the other branches like civil, mechanical, electrical and electronics in my first year instead of my domain subjects for whole two semester and the timespan of almost an year
