College campus is spread across 600acres in lush green forest. It offers a great learning atmosphere among the students. There are almost all the sport stadiums built in the campus. Both I would say the best part of the campus. Bad remarks.I would say for the hostel management. They are pretty old and they keep all the rules which is bit irritating.

I took IITJEE along with other entrance exams which included BITSAT, AIEEE, EAMCET. I got decent marks in all the exams.(top 1percentile).I got a rank of 4100 in IIT-JEE and my obvious choice was joining IIT. I went for the counselling to IIT Madras and fell in love with the campus instantly. I figured it was my destination and chose chemical engineering at the same campus.

First year was common to all the branches. which included high level mathematics (engineering),c-language, and other courses.From second year onward, courses will be specific to a particular branch. In chemical engineering,important courses includes.1.Mass transfer 2.heat transfer 3. Momentum transfer 4. chemical reaction engineering 5. process control and Instrumentation etc.There are many electives to choose from. I chose management studies as my elective.

I have done my internship at IICT Hyderabad. As far as internship is considered, most of the times it is on our hands to search for one. There is minimal support from the department.My internship is research based and I got a stipend of 5000/month

Around 600 companies came for the placements and around 50% are open for all branches and another 50% is open for specific branches. All the multinational companies which includes Facebook, Microsoft, google, linkdin etc offered 60lakh plus offers. And many Indian conglomerates like ITC, HUL, Coramandel etc offered 18lakh plus salaries.banks included DB, capital one etc offered 20lakh plus salaries.It is difficult to mention all the companies.on an average the ctc would come close to 14lakh/anum for the whole campus

Annual cultural fest called SAARANG is pretty famous all across india. It is spread across 4 to 5 days. It is handled by the student community in the campus. It is so big that one can see all big names in the industry attending and performing live shows be it shankar ehsaan loy, shreya ghosal, kamal hasan.and many.around 60000 people will attend the festival. Annual technical festival called Shastra is famous by its own way. It attracts all the technical innovations around that time and the past.

Fee is very much feasible at IITM.tuition fee would be around 25000/semester and hostel fee around 15000/semester.some people get scholarship based on their performance in IITJEE and their means which would be very helpful.

I availed MCM scholarship. It si merit cum means scholarship. tuition fee would be wavered with that scholarship. Only hostel fee has to be paid.

As far as gender ratio is considered gents are always outnumbered. But not to say there is considerable female strength as well. Hostel parties are very common. Every year end there are hostel nights specific to the hostel. Hostel nights are very much enjoyed by the students. There are many clubs that are controlled by students in all the areas. for example.music club, technology club, spiritual etc. There is club pertaining to pretty much all the areas and students have many options. There are competitions between the hostels and the points are given based on their performance. At the end of the year which ever hostel gets more points it is declared as a winner in that particular segment.

Almost everyone stays at the hostels. Day scholars are hardly found. There are many hostels around 20 in the campus. All the hostels are independent and offers comfortable stay.First year the rooms are shared and from second year one is given ones own room.

Yes. Alumini network is huge. Infact there is annual alumni meet every year that attracts alumni working in varied sectors.There is monthly newsletter as well.!

Exam structure would be like this.quiz1 - 20%quiz 2 - 20%end sem - 60%. It sometimes changes with the courses. There can be surprise test element that would take 10%.Labs would be enjoyable as it is performed in a structured way.

Faculty was awesome at least for the courses I have taken. they are all experienced and a pedigree from the best of the colleges.They are always supportive and willing to devote their time to academics.
