Remarks

The college has a positive influence on me since I was able to complete my required education without having to compromise my w=job and also in the best way possible. I was able to score good marks which will surely be good for my future.

Course Curriculum Overview

There were online classes for each subject which was spread all over the week. The classes were each for around 3 hours and students had to be present for those classes or take special permission to just study with the help of study materials if they are unable to attend those classes.

Placement Experience

5

Students who pursued distance education were mainly not interested in placement options from their respective college, but if some body was interested then the college would take the necessary steps to make sure that they could help them out.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The total fee for PG courses is Rs. 10000 for the first year and Rs. 8,500 for the second year. In this the annual tuition fee is Rs. 8000, one time registration fee is Rs. 1000, annual enrollment fee is Rs. 200, one time correspondence education develop fund is Rs. 300, and annual library fee is Rs. 300. The examination fee is Rs. 300 per subject, application fee is Rs. 110 and marks card fee is Rs. 210. This brings the total examination fee to Rs. 1420 for all subjects.

Campus Life

I was a student of the correspondence course who did not stay in the same town and hence I was not interested in the events that took place in the college. All of my interaction with the college was related solely to the course.

Admission

After completing my graduation in tourism I was working but wanted to continue with my higher studies through a correspondence course. Mangalore University, Center for Distance Education provided the course for MA in tourism which was merit based selection.

Faculty

The faculties who used to take our online classes were very patient with the students and made sure that each and every students was able to take in whatever the course offered. Since they knew about the technological difficulties that surrounds an online class, they made sure that no one fell back in the course.

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th sem. The highest on campus package this year was around 64 LPA, while as far as I know, the top 20% of the students usually get offers in the 16-24LPA range. The overall placement rate is good, but results depend a lot on your skills and practice
