Course Curriculum Overview

Our college offers various courses and 15 courses under PG programme. I applied for BDS, bachelors of dental surgery which is a course duration of 4 years. It also provide as internships and on the field training. The course curriculum is designed in a way which makes the subject interesting.

Placement Experience

As our college is a Medical Institute so there is not much issues related to placements. Every year students are placed into government companies for hospitals and are also placed as medical officers as well. Medical hospitals look forward to hire students from KMC.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure of our Institute is quite expensive but never mind because it always offers scholarships and payments on installment basis to reduce the burden of the students. As I had opted for bachelors in dental surgery I had to pay 321300 every year so in total I paid INR1285200. Similarly the fee structure differs from courses to courses.

Campus Life

As our College is a medical college is does not have that much of extra curricular activities but the college conducts seminars and conferences as well as debates on the topics related to gender roles health and hygiene blood donation camps race and religion which broadens the knowledge of the students.

Admission

Kannur Medical College is a private college which was established in the year 2006. to get an admission in this college I had to score 50% and above in my intermediate stream with physics, chemistry and biology or biotech. I also have to finish my NEET UG examination.

Faculty

Our faculty is of well experienced and qualified doctors. They always impose their ideas and knowledge on the students. We are always encouraged by them to to perform better in a more hygienic way. They always support us and understand our issues.Teachers are very polite towards us.

Experiences so far

Likes

My experience at lissah has been mixing of challenges. Psychology depart has supportive teachers and classes is good
Campus is peaceful and it’s so greenery there are opportunities to take part in different academics
I also like that the psychology department has its own lab and practical exposure and Lissah is well known for psychology itself

Dislikes

I feel that there could be more programmes activities and opportunities for students to make college life
Location could feel like quiet and it’s not in town area
Those who prefer more active atmosphere I would not recommend here

I chose bsc psychology because I was interested in understanding human behaviour. The curriculum covers different areas of psychology along with subjects such as major psychology minor statistics and physiology then English mdc . Since I am still in my first year I have only experienced the initial part of course

Faculties are good. Most them are very friendly
Class rooms and canteen are also good. Not the best
Fees are very low comparing to other collages

Dislikes

Not giving good placements. Only 1 or 2 good companies good. Others are average
I'm not interested hostel. But my friends in hostel always saying that the food is not good.
Some faculties are not treat all the students equal. Not every only some

Placement Experience:

Placement are not the best. But EY , federal bank, TCS are some the prominent companies that are coming. The negative thing about placement is most of them are offering marking jobs. So if you are someone who is interested in operations this is not the collage you want to in.

Likes

Decent infrastructure. hostel infrastructure is also clean and better than most colleges

Dislikes

Very poor campus life. No importance for cultural programmes and activities
Very poor and degrading environment for women. Faculties and other staff are very judgemental.
Very low packages for average students. Placement training is regularly being provided, but it is too hectic to be managed along with curriculum.

Placement Experience:

students become eligible for placements after sixth semester. Major companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, e.t.c are recruiters. about 5-10 students are recuited on average by these companies. highest package was offered by south indian bank in 2023 (10 LPA). average packges are around 2 to 3 LPA.

We have a very good faculty family that is not only supportive but also loving.

Placement Experience:

From the seventh semester we are eligible for the placements. They provide placement training sessions in the college itself. Computer Science department has almost hundred percent placements. Also there is mtech in the college if you prefer higher studies.

TIST , Great college , fun events and more

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Likes

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

Programs and activities are good and the support
Good support for the sports and highly skill atheletes

Dislikes

Exams are conducted without a gap in between
There are a lot of assignment often for the students

Placement Experience:

After 6 th semester students become eligible for placements . It's in the final years . Many companies have visited the college and made offers for the students like Wipro,Tenzo tech , infopark etc Around 70 Percent students get placement

Yeah well, positive things are there. I got many friends. I got a degree. I learned much personal and professional knowledge. I also learned how to live independently for 4 years without parents alone somewhere.

I really loved the infrastructure.

The students can apply for the admission by visiting the official website of the college or by visiting the campus of the college. The main eligibility criteria for applying for the MBBS degree in this college is to first pass the national eligibility entrance test which is held at an all India level. The other eligibility criteria is that the candidates must have completed 17 years of age to apply for the entrance examination.
