Course Curriculum Overview
Right from the semester one we were told to focus on more on practical aspect of the course and we deeply researched on the morphology of vegetables and the vegetation where its grown. Like every other course, the theoretical part gets monotonous but its the research and the desire to improve the horticulture and agriculture in general that kept us going.
Placement Experience
When it comes to the placement, it is pretty decent. With most of the students either turning towards research or planning to have career in teaching. For summer training and final placement, some of the established FMCG companies did turn up.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is pretty affordable and you will be through with your Masters under 2.5 lacs, considering its the only horticulture University of Haryana and one of the most sought after Universities with decent facilities and a great exposure in research.
Campus Life
Since there is no under grad program and with only 5-6 courses with limited number of students, the extra curricular activities are limited. However, the campus is spread in over 76 acres of land so there is ample space for outdoor sports, and you can see students walking around the campus. The labs though are pretty specious equipped with advanced equipment and apparatus.
Admission
Both online and offline forms are available which after the payment of 1000 rupees of non-refundable admission form fee. The entrance exam is known as CCS-HAU since it is affiliated to Chaudhary Charan Singh University. After the declaration of the result, the process of counseling begins wherein you get admitted to the college. One thing which is to be noted is that it has very limited seats hence the competition is pretty high too.
Faculty
There is very limited faculty in the college but so is the overall strength of the university. They are highly educated with most of them having doctoral degrees. For me, I got inclined to the research part of the course due to the overall emphasis being laid on the practical aspect by each of the faculty member.
