Vellalar College for Women Review

Vellalar College for Women is an autonomous college, affiliated to Bharathiar University. It is situated in Erode, Tamil Nadu. It offers a number of aided and self-finance courses, hostel facility, placements.

The college is affiliated to Bharathiar University, and thus, the course curriculum is set in accordance with it. Along with 2 semester-end final exams, students are also assessed and marked upon internal tests, projects and their behaviour.

Prestigious companies come at our campus for placement after completing graduation, like Max Health Insurance, IDBI Federal Life Insurance, Wipro, Infosys, TCS, Amazon. My graduating year, around 580 people were selected with decent packages.

The fees for aided and self-finance courses is different. Fees range for aided undergraduate courses is ?1,200- ?1,800 for a year. My yearly fees came to around ?1,500. Fees for self-finance courses is a little more than aided ones. The fees structure is feasible.

Quizzes and debates regularly take place in the campus to ensure a healthy competitive environment. Fine arts are encouraged among students so they can explore their creative side. I excelled in fine arts and it is thoughtful of them to include it as extra-curriculum. Media club, theatre club, NSS, science club are some of the co-curricular activities.

The hostel rooms are well-furnished and include modern amenities. Wi-fi and television are available. Pure vegetarian food is served in the dining hall. Security of students and their belongings is given priority. CCTV's are used to keep a check.

The admission procedure is pretty simple, actually. As soon as my result of 10+2 was declared, I had to submit my application to the Principal, which I did. Then after a while, they intimidated me that I had gotten selected.

The faculty are well qualified. They are a correct balance of professionalism and friendliness. They know when to be strict and get something done, and when to be our friend. All professors know a great deal of information and are delighted to share it with us.
