Remarks
SIBM provides a very diverse campus and faculty and gives you an unforgettable experience. The faculty is good, and the focus given to the development of professionalism in students is phenomenal. The alumni network is very helpful too. The campus provides a refreshing change from the monotone and mediocrity of the conventional academic life.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is pretty standard and is a mixed of the chalk and board teaching and the latest styles of teaching like Case Studies, Brainstorming sessions, and assignment and dissertation writing. It includes four semesters and the exams for each include both conventional written examinations and assignments/dissertations.
Placement Experience
Most of the students in my batch received decent packages, and the placement cell is phenomenal. It is well-connected and approachable. There were more than 80 recruiters and more than 150 recruitment. The companies that were available for campus selection in marketing included names like Abbott, Aditya Birla Group, American Express, and Adani Group.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The course fee is an average of about five lacs per semester, and you might consider it a bit high, compared with the other colleges, but the institute provides scholarships and you can also avail education loans. Apart from that, with the kind of courses taught and the placement scenario, the fee is definitely justified.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are many scholarships that you can apply for based on merit (it is awarded on the basis of your semester and SNAP scores and previous exam scores), sports performance, SIU sports scholarship, Jayatee Deshmukh Award (for female students) and many more. You can also find a suitable education loan provided by Axis Bank, Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda, HDFC Credila, or any other bank of your choice.
Campus Life
There are many events and extracurricular activities in the campus, including sports, workshops, seminars, etc. There are also many clubs and societies to choose from like the Innovation Club, Vitarka - HR & IR Club, Mark-O-Polo - Marketing Club, and OpCellence - Operations Club, to name a few.
Admission
I think SIBM offers one of the most exciting MBA experiences that is the perfect combination of classroom teaching and professional grooming. To apply, you have to first appear in the SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude) test, clearing which you will be asked to appear for the GE-PIWAT, i.e. Group Exercise - Personal Interview and Written Aptitude Test. If you ace these, you are accepted into the college.
Faculty
The faculty is really good, the professors have the top academic qualifications and the corporate experience which enables them to help us better understand the implications of academic exercises as well as real life scenarios. In Marketing, we were always encouraged to go into the real corporate market and explore creative solutions to the problems.
