Distance learning for higher studies

The University of Mumbai IDOL is a good place for learning as it provides opportunity to those who want to pursue their academic career. The means of communication has been increased by the college and a student needs to be vigilant for the day to day circulars.

Course curriculum is a bit clumsy. However, the learning material if studied regularly would see any student passing the exams in flying colours. Examinations are conducted annually. You will have to write assignments to be eligible for taking examinations.

IDOL offers distance education courses and the student has to learn by his own. After completing his course he may participate in the campus placements of University of Mumbai. A number of good companies like HDFC, ICICI and Axis Bank visit for campus placement of freshers.

The University is a happening place with so many clubs run by students and you get to participate in them it helps you learn more about the culture of Mumbai. College festivals are a treat for everyone in the campus.

University of Mumbai IDOL offers the courses with a minimal fees. It is Rs. 3230 for First Year, Second Year - Rs 3070 and for Third Year it is rs. 3160. The total amount works out to be Rs. 9460. This cost is affordable.

University of Mumbai IDOL offers scholarship that are sponsored by the Government of Maharashtra and Central Government. One is Post Matric Scholarship which is applicable for SC/ST/OBC etc. it is Online GOI Post Matric Scholarship Scheme.

Institute of distance education caters for the needs of students who want topursue their studies along with doing some job. Hence, you may not see many IDOL students participating in the events. You may witness and enrich your know how by attending various events conducted by University of Mumbai.

University of Mumbai IDOL offers distance learning courses. Hence, their focus is more on academics and they don't offer or extend any hostel facility. However, a student can get a good rental outside the premises of the university on sharing basis.

I don't know much about alumni network of this college. As most of us are working and come to college to attend contact programmes on weekdays, not much of bonding develops with the alumni or seniors as such.

I took admission in this college as it was offering learning without disturbing my job. I am doing a job and to pursue my academics further this college is the best as it offers me learning at my own pace. One has to attend classes during afternoons or on weekends and holidays.

The faculty are good and they try to guide the students. However, communication with the students could be more informative in nature. They try to solve the academic related problems. All of them are well qualified.
