Good college

The college is good than what what i had expected. It would be nicer if the management maintain a close relation with the students. Otherwise all of them are so friendly and supportive here. The seniors and faculty are of great help.

The complete course is of 5.5 years. It is divided into 9 semesters. The remaining one year is for the internship. The syllabus is very easy here. All the topics are mostly covered in class. There are frequent exams conducted but the exam times are usually easy. There isn't a lot of pressure and the schedule isn't hectic.

The college does have a mandatory rule of one year internship after during the last year of your MBBS. There are quite a good opportunities available outside after completion of the internship. The packages are also with a good pay sometimes around 20k to 45k per month.

There is an annual event UMANG. Various cultural activities are held among students and everyone can participate without any restriction. One can participate in 2 or 3 events depending upon your interest. This event is quite a big one and all the students get quite enthusiastic about it.

As this is a government institution, the fee is very low when we compare to other private institutions. When I joined the college, I was asked to pay just 7000 rupee as my tuition fee. The facilities in comparison to fee are also good.

As the college is a government college, there are scholarships for the students. The government handles most of the student expenses. Loan facility is also available for students facing any difficulty to pay the tuition fee.

There are leisure and sports hours scheduled for stress relief of students. The students are allowed to play all kinds of sports. It is the government who manages all the sports equipments required for the college. There is a separate sports club also.

The hostel is decent. There is enough space in each room that it can be shared by 3 to 4 students. There is no facility of separate washrooms. They are common for everyone but are cleaned regularly. The mess food is also good.

The seniors of our college are really kind and helpful. They help us so much with our academics. They help us know the exam patterns. Most of our college alumni are now successful people who have their own hospitals or have become NRI.

I appeared for both BCECE and NEET. Luckily, my scores were good in both the tests. Later on I applied for different colleges for my MBBS admission. After a few days I got shortlisted in a few colleges and I was called for visits. I had to choose the best option and Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College was the one.

The faculty here is quite good. Sometimes a few of the topics are not taught in classes which have to be covered on our own. But the lecturers have a good knowledge on their subjects. Some of them are very experienced.
