Dyal Singh College: all you need to know

Dyal singh college is considered as one of the best colleges under Kurukshtera University and the best college in Karnal. I've had heard a lot about the college when I was going through the reviews of different colleges of area. And I already had a lot of friends there (who were seniors), so I took their help and their views were positive. Everybody likes the college, the site of campus, faculty and all. I had to commute to the college by bus and the campus is near bus stand, so it was easy to go on foot from bus stand. The admission process was quite easy. At the time of my admission, I had to go to the campus and take the prospectus from the library and fill up the form and then wait for the list. But now it's online, you just download the prospectus, fill up the form and done. For science, the teachers are really good. To conclude, there is actually a reason why the college is best in the city.

I chose BSc medical, obviously because I had been a medical student in high school. There are a lot of options for medical students in the college like genetics, biotechnology, forensic science and all, but I chose general medical because of my interest in chemistry(and the chemistry department staff is good in the college). The faculty student ratio is proper, excluding the joint classes. My teachers were mostly doctorates (phd) and experienced, with at least 30 years teaching experience. The term examinations were timely. You study, you pass. That's it.

Mine is not a professional course, so I can't say much about that. But as I have seen in college, students are eligible for placements in 6th semester.

I had the OBC quota for fees, so I'll share my fee details. Overall fee structure was same for all the six semesters. My first semester admission fee was ?5200, additional bio-informatics course fee was ?700. There wasn't much difference in other semesters'fee. Scholarship is awarded for OBC quota to students whose attendance is minimum 75% which is almost ?8000 per semester.

Life in campus is awesome. There are a lot of fests but most of them are educational. The most popular is Youth Fest which is held out of the campus and before that talent shows are organized in campus. Annual sports meet is held in February for 3 days. That's so much fun. There are not much students clubs. Library is my favourite place in the complete campus. For UG, you have to get books issued by librarian but there is a PG section in the back, you can get novels and magazines there. That's my favorite section.
