Course Curriculum Overview

3

Course curriculum and exam stucture are a bit outdated according to the current scenario of the innovation going on around the world. But, my college supports practical knowledge as an extra curricular and tries their best to make us ready for the world. I would say it is average in making me a better professional. The placement cell helps in preparation for placements and it really helps students for the securing job from on-campus placement drives.

Placement Experience

3

There were many companies for placement drives like Ganter, Cita, Bridge Tech, Iknowx, Techno Endeavours, Kaligudi, Almighty Software, Cognizant, E-Tech, NeoSoft Technology, Tri-state Technology, CBS software solutions, Scale Tech, PlusInfosys, WebMob, Encrypted. And many other companies from Ahmedabad and Rajkot. First a basic aptitude test is taken for all eligible candidates. All candidates who cleared this test have to give technical programming test. All candidates who clear this test have to submit their resume and have to go for personal Interview. Every year 85-90% students are placed in these on campus placements. Institute's placement and Training cell helps stident prepare for aptitude and technical programming tests.

College Events

0.5

Udaan is an anual cultural function held at college. Floric is the technical event organised bystudents at the college. These functions aren't very big, participants from the colleges nearby Rajkot attend and participate in these events. These are State level events only.

Fee Structure And Facilities

My program that is Bachelor of Computer Engineering costs around 3 lack rupees. Students must pay 5000 rupees security deposit which is refunded at the end of the completion of the degree. Yes, the whole fee structure is kept transparent to the students.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college or University does not offer any scholarships to middle-class General catagory students. The only scholarships available were to those who are earning less than 4 lack per annum expected. (by government, not by college).

Campus Life

2

Campus Life is not exiting here, female to male gender ratio is 0. 2. No extracurricular activities are been held in the college, the are no sports rooms, there are computer labs, cnc labs, android. Lab, iOS lab, robotics club was there and robotics competition were also held. I would explain these competitions as average. Gender ratio is very poor. People from all religions are welcome on campus, there is no such thing as political and economic status.

Hostel Facilities

2

College does not have hostel facility, but I stayed in a hostel nearby this college for 2 years. The hostel provides rooms on 4 people sharing bases. The hostel fees for an year was around 26000. The hygiene is properly maintained in the hostel. Food quality was below average, hot water was not available all the time, frequent electricity cutoffs were an issue, no generator or inverter were provided, there was no pest control services due to which pests and insects were a big trouble. No proper commutation form city to hostel was available. Overall the fees was way too much as compared to the facilities provided.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are not very helpfull, out there all students are on their own. Although faculty members stayback after college hours to help students.

Admission

I have always been fascinated by computers since childhood. I was really interested in knowing more about computers and it's working. So, I opted to go for Computer Engineering and make it a full time career. My 12 result was not so good, hence I filled the ACPC form which is necessary for engineering admission in University in Gujarat. A merit list was created based on JEE and 12 result. Based on this result I was eligible to get admission in Darshan Institute of Engineering and Technology and a few more. I selected this institution because of the practical knowledge they provided in comparison to others.

Faculty

3

There are around 30 lecturers in Computer Engineering department between age group 30- 45 among which, most of them have Masters degree in the field of computer science and 6 of them are PhD holders. Lecturers are trained to give practical knowledge and application of each and every aspect of learning a particular topic. Faculty have good programming knowledge. All professors have industrial experience of 2 -3 years before they selected teaching as their career.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I did write the course curriculum and Indus university as good and relevant. Overall I chose this course because it has strong fundamentals project work and practical exposure. The curriculum prepares students well for real-world applications and internships, Though it could include more advanced tech technologies and industry certifications exams are regular, each semester and moderate, challenging, encouraging consistent study, but sometimes could be more practical oriented.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well structured and covers all the basic and important subjects related to the field. This course includes both theoretical and practical subjects which influenced my decision to choose it. The syllabus helps in building strong fundamentals, but it is still more theory-oriented and less industry-focused. It prepares students for exams and higher studies, but for real-world skills, students need to do extra courses and self-practice. The exams are conducted every semester along with internal tests and are moderate in difficulty level. If a student studies regularly, the exams are not very difficult to clear. The curriculum should be updated more frequently and more practical, project-based and industry-related topics should be added.
