Remarks
It was the nearest college to my home and the quality of education is up to the mark in my locality. St Xavier's College is known for its quality education and its discipline. So all these factors made up my mind that I should be joining this college.
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose this course as I belong to Commerce stream so choosing BBA was really favorable for me. The student-faculty ratio is quite decent. It's neither too good nor too bad. The teaching faculty in my course are highly qualified and had a very good experience in the corporate sectors in some of the very known companies in INDIA. Our teachers conduct class tests on a regular basis. Mid-Semesters are conducted in mid of session followed by End-Semesters.
Internships Opportunities
I haven't joined any internship program yet. Last year our college offered an internship program with some very known brands like SONY, VESPA APRILIA, etc. Roles are usually sales executive and assistant manager. As much as I know my friends received a stipend of 15000 for a work of 30 days along with a certificate from the concerned brand. Usually, the projects are target-based (sales target).
Placement Experience
The students in their final years are eligible for the placements. TISCO, TATA CONSULTANCY, INFOSYS, etc. I've no exact idea about the packages but as the students are passed with UG degrees so the packages are quite low. Roughly 30-45% of students get placements. I've planned for MBA after completion of my course.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is quite high compared to that of other colleges in the neighborhood. But still studying in such a college really worth it. There's a scholarship program run by the state government (E-Kalyan) and students can apply for it via the college campus accordingly.
Campus Life
Our college organizes an annual fest every year named (Xavier Fest) in the very first week of February. Basically, there are two types of libraries for students. One the department library and the central library. The classroom is decent not too high-tech well ventilated and equipped with a projector. Our college organizes an annual sports function along with the Xavier Fest. There are various clubs and social groups in our college such as Rotoract Club, NSS Club, etc.
Admission
Entrance + Interview
Interview Experience
There was no group discussion. We went through a personal panel interview headed by the HOD of our department and teaching faculty. The admission criteria are divided into two parts Written (including business aptitude, English, reasoning, and basic maths calculation of interests). Once passed in the written exam one goes through the panel interview. I went through some common ques related to the topics that I've mentioned above. Then I also consulted some of our seniors for some guidance.
