Remarks

I found it one of the best college of Kanpur. Good education in affordable cost.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Course curriculum was upto the mark and the professors were very nice. They used to come to the call everyday. Case studies were given to work on and submit the projects. Exams were as per the university date sheet. Strictness was on top and it was really difficult to bring notes or model papers with you because of 2 levels of searching.

Placement Experience

4

During that time, job fares were very new in Small cities like Kanpur. Beside D.B.S, there is a college of computer sciences. They used to organize job fares every year and lot of companies like Genpact, Airtel, Vodafone, ATS, Wipro, IBM and HCL etc used to be there to campus hiring. So job fare was not limited to the particular college but students from the near by colleges were also invited to come to job fares for jobs. BPOs and Telecom on top of that time so most of us go offers from the campus. Although, those offers were very basic and just for beginning but getting a job was more important at that time.

College Events

4.5

We used to have annual event on the foundation day of the college. That was 3 days events and students from other colleges were also invites. Lot of plays and competitions were planned with handsome price money. Management was very much supportive and we used to get good funds from the college to prepare our plays and other stuffs.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasible with scholarships for below poverty line people. Installment option was also available in the fees. Student leaders were very much supporting and they used to help needy students to get the scholarships. Fees was accepted by DD only. There was a Uti bank, now Axis in the campus and all the fees were accepted through DD of that bank. There was no additonal fee apart from the admission and exam fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

I never opted for this because my family had Yellow Rashan card which is above poverty line. Also because of middle class family, we never opted for scholarship.

Campus Life

4

Campus life was superb. I used to go to college by bicycle. It was around 3 kilometres from my home. I got Rs 50 monthly pass for cycle stand. Gender ratio was almost equal but we used to see lot of girls only during exams. Maybe there are not allowed to go to college everyday because of living too far from the campus or may be because of atmosphere.

Alumni/Alumna

unfortunately there is no Alumni network for that time. May be now because social media is more popular now.

Admission

Admission was based on the 12th merit list. I went to the college and bought an admission form. Nothing was online. I filled the form and deposited along with the 12th Mark sheet copy. Admission process was started from 1st July and first merit was released on 1st April.

Faculty

4.5

All the faculties were very much professional. Most of them were older then 45 years and were strict in the call rooms. Faculty was very well accessible. Students were allowed to go faculty room anytime and meet your faculty in person to discuss the doubts.

Placement Experience:

For campus placements, 6th semester students are eligible. There are various companies which visit our campus for the campus recruitment process some of them are IDFC First Bank, Adda 24x7, Piramal Finance, etc. The highest package offered was 5 lacs and the average package as per company was 350000. 40-50 percentage of the students are getting placements in the college every year. After the BBA Degree, I am planning for the Masters Degree for better placement. |

I'd rate BA Hons English curriculum at BHU 4.5/5. Strengths: comprehensive literature coverage, language skills development, and critical thinking. Weaknesses: limited focus on contemporary literature and digital humanities. Prepares well for academics, writing, and teaching careers.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The sociology course teaches me the norms of our society and family we live in. This course will provide a vast knowledge about the society and culture and this made me to choose this course. The time given is enough to complete the course and to understand it . The exams are conducted after every six months so the difficulty level is moderate.

Amity University, Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (Economics)
Reviewed on Nov 15, 2024(Enrolled 2018)

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum at Amity University is a well rounded blend of theortical principles and practical relevance that shaped my future career. There are modules like microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics and statistics that provide a strong formation for any future career opportunities in economics or finance. Additionally the presence of specialise subject like health economics, developmental economics, international trade, public policy and behavioural economics very highly appealing and something you would not find in other universities or/and government university. The inclusion of such modules got my attention because it promised to go beyond traditional economic subjects and focusing on the practical subjects that are also industry specific level of domain of economics. They were also research projects, data analysis classes, case studies throughout the three year course which allows students to apply and test their knoweldge that further enhance the value of the degree. There were also subjects like environmental sciences, psychology, communicative English which was made mandatory for students that help them shape their personality and adapt more to a corporate setting. The examination system is designed to assess the viability of skills and critically but the difficulty of exam especially towards the end of semester can create unnecessary pressure for students. There will be time that there will be last minute syllabus changes or additional chapters to be considered and there is no structured format of what you can expect in the written exam however there is a fair grading system though some students feel that instead of the exams there can be more emphasis on analytical side rather than modules that require rote learning.

Overall curriculum was good that they make proper schedules of classes and all but there was something lacking is that sometimes the professor was absent and we wasn't aware about that and sitting in that class without knowing they should inform us or make a proper arrangement for replacing of class with other teacher and also there was lacking of technology in studies I didn't remember how many times they used the projector for proper teaching.
