Remarks

UBS is a good college but not extraordinary. If you are willing to put your best effort them this is for you and if you are thinking that you are going to depend on your professors then don't come here. It's not par with IIM ofcourse, discussion of case studies will always depend upon the professor you got. Don't expect much. Good ROI definitely. So if you are happy with an average placement and don't want to take too much stress then this college is for you. But I'm repeating don't left IIM for UBS if it's not necessary.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Course curriculum Course curriculum is not very up-to-date. This is something which you can say a shortcoming of this college. Though from the year 2020 they have introduced some new subjects like data analytics, digital and retail marketing for the third semester students as per the requirement of today's business environment. Not much case studies are discussed here. You can't expect much from teacher's side, here everything is done by students. You have to push your limits, teachers will not going to do that. Here everything is depended on you. Curriculum is not groomed to provide industry specific knowledge. But as I said some changes are made from this year so can't say about that though but the previous one what not upto the mark Industry visits are arranged but only for the students who are in placement cell and very few students out of the placement cell. So if you want to take advantage of industrial visits then you have to be a part of placement cell or become extraordinary so that you can come in the eyes of teachers and placement cell.

Placement Experience

3.5

List of companies visited in our college this year for the placement drives are as follows - HDFC, SBI General, SBI Life, Trident group, Tolaram Group, Wipro, Finxera, HSBC, Infosys, ICICI, Paisa Bazaar, American Express, CDB, HDFC AMC, KPMG, E&Y and many more Every year almost 100% students got placed but due to recession this year around 90% students got placed. Average package offered- 9.5 lacks p.a. Minimum package - 6.5 lakhs p.a. For summer placement, companies used to visite our campus are American express, Finxera, HDFC, HDFC AMC, Zigram, Pikkol, Honda, Tata AIA, Aditya Birla Sunlife, Khadi Essentials, Grazitti, Delhivery, Volvo, United Breweries Ltd, etc. CV is made by us in the format specified by the institution only. UBS's alumn vase is very huge. So everytime when a company visits, our professors used to greet them and make sure they will get a remarkable experience at UBS. UBS's hospitality is very famous among companies who visit here. Since MBA Entrepreneurship is started from 2019 only, we are the first batch of this course here, So placement of this batch will going to happen in 2020-21. Though in case of Summer internship, the first student who got an internship is from our stream. He got the internship in American Express.

College Events

4.5

No fests are organised in our college. Though many business events, competitions, colclaves and much more are organised by our college through different clubs and cells such as Business cell, Public relations cell, Alumini relationship cell. Like Management Conclave has been organised by the Business cell in the year 2019 which was a two day event and much coveted personalities of business world are invited there. HR conclave was organised by the Alumini relationship cell where business personalities in the field of HR are invited. This was a 2 day event organised in 2019. Ted X was organised by Business cell in the year 2018 which was a great event. Marketing colclave was organised by Business cell which was even published in various magazines. Many quizzes on Dare to compete, A cycling event, Quizzinga a quiz competition, Treasure hunt, Lohri function and much more are organised by our college. It's a happening place actually.

Fee Structure And Facilities

For MBA Entrepreneurship the total fee of the course is ?2,05,000 which includes study material fee, basic fee, tuition fee, everything. Though exam fee is not included in this. At the end of every semester around 4000 rupees is taken as exam fee. Other streams fee is much much less. It's around ?30,000 I guess for the whole course. Not sure for this but yes it's much less. Mode of payment- The fee taken by us at the time of counseling session was around ?70000 in the form of three Demand Drafts whose details are always provided by the institution in the mail itself or through notice at PU website. Then the subsequent payment at the end of every semester can pe paud through Post office or by depositing cash in the SBI branch available at PU itself. Exam fee can be paid online through SBI Collect.

Fees and Financial Aid

No scholarships are provided by our college. In case of loan, firstly feww students need the loan since the fee structure is very low. Fees is very less as compared to other MBA colleges. I don't know the loan procedure actually but I think if someone wants to take it they can easily take an educational loan from SBI. I'm guessing SBI because all transactions related to fees for our college are done through that bank only.

Campus Life

3.5

Gender ratio is generally 1:4 i.e. 1 girl on every 4 boys. Workshops are conducted frequently by various leaders, our alumnus. Guest lectures are frequently arranged by different cells of our college. Extracurricular activities as I mentioned earlier in deatail are organised frequently in our college but this all are done by students only. No involvement of teachers are there. Politics is part of every institution, here also politics is done but it's tolerable. Since it's a business school, students generally stay out of the politics and professors also don't like their students to be involved in such kind of things. We don't discriminate here on the basis of one's religion, gender and economic status since it's a college established in 1969 and from then only it become a culture of this institution to accept every kind of student here. Here we got students from every area whether it it orisa or rajasthan. Every economic class.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Yes I have opted for hostel. Hostels of PU are good. There are 10 hostels for Girls. Though our college's students seats are hostel no 3,4,5&6. I'm in hostel 4. Every facility has been provided in hostels. Very safe. 24 hours security personnel guard us at the entrance of hostel. Especially girls security is at the priority for them. Tuck shop, Beauty Parlour, Tailor shop, Tv room i.e. common room, Indoor Games room, Study room, washing machine, Cycles, Canteen, Mess everything is provided in the hostels. Food quality is good. It tastes good. Inspection of food is made by senior officials very frequently. Hostel rooms are okayish. Not big but okay. As old your hostel is the room size is smaller. Hostel no 6 rooms are big and modern. If someone gets there then it's their luck. But other hostels are also upto the mark, it's just that their room size is small as compared to hostel 6 room size. In case of washrooms, everyday they got cleaned by the aunty who is the cleaning incharge. Both European as well as Indian washrooms are there. Hostel fee- ?12000 per year, this doesn't include mess amd canteen charges. At the Every month end mess and canteen bills have to be paid online through SBI Collect and receipt have to be submitted to the warden.

Alumni/Alumna

They are very helpful. UBS's alumni base is very strong. It's none less than any IIM since it's a college which was established in 1969. A very old and reputed college with a huge alumn base. Guest lectures and various sessions are conducted by our seniors and alumnus at time to time. I want to share one experience when a session of an alumni was conducted who is an IAS officer and has climbed the Everest also. It was a life changing story. I was so influenced by that story that I have decided not to become depress by thinking that this is not happening, this is going wrong or what not. Because everyone can do whatever they want to, it's only their willpower and destiny. That's what life is.

Admission

Firstly We have to clear CAT to become eligible for this college. Every year college specify a CAT cutoff for the students. Students have to fill an application form for the college available at the Panjab University webite. Every year college specify the dates for the opening and closing of application form. After filling application form only they will consider you.It will cost around ?3000. Physical copy of the form have to be posted through Post office or the routes specified on the site. Then after that College announce the cutoff criteria based on CAT score. Generally it's around 85 to 90 percentile. Those students who have cleared the cutoff got eligible for the next round i.e. GDPI round. For that you have to come to college campus on the dates specified in the mail sent by the college to the eligible students. Yes, college will send the mail to the eligible students. Then after group discussion and personal interview results will announced after some days. A ranking chart got pasted in the PU site. So on the basis of ranking college invite students and student got the chance of selecting the subjects in which they want to do their MBA. There are around 70 seats for MBA general, 35 seats aur MBA IB, 35 seats for MBA HR and 25 seats for MBA Entrepreneurship. Every year GDPI happens most probably in March first and second week. But dates may change. You have to go through PU website for that. For getting your favourite stream ane has to gi e their best in GDPI so that they will get a higher rank and got earlier chance to choose their favourite stream. Generally for selecting a candidate, 75% weightage is given to CAT scores, 12.5% weightage to GD and 12.5% weightage to PI. So CAT scores matters alot here. Here your previous Graduation percentage or high school percentage don't matter much. What I mean to say is your previous percentage will not play much role in your selection decision. I opt for this course because in this course we get to learn about every field I.e. you got a variety of options to choose. If you want to pursue both Marketing as well as finance then you have that option. And entrepreneurship is the vital requirement of every country.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty of this college is great. They all are very knowledgeable persons. But one shortcoming is some are so busy in themselves that they don't give much attention to the students. It depends upon your luck that what faculty you get. In our college Great teachers are there who have emense knowledge of their subject, a great experience and have contacts which great personalities. Some of the examples are Anupam Bava ma'am, Suveera Gil ma'am and much more. The timing of lectures is very hectic. Everyday 5 lectures of 1.15 hours each are scheduled. And after that you have to do all the assignment work and everything. Our classes generally starts from 9:15am and ends at 4:40 pm and after each class we get break of 5-10 mins. At 10:25am you got break for 25 minutes and at 1:15 pm you get break of 1 hour till 2:15 pm.

Companies like Adani, American Express, Airtel, Dabur and many more visit the campus with offers of more than 150. As of last the highest package offered was 58 LPA and the average is 13lpa with profiles like Area sales manager, product management, Business analyst etc. More than 92% of students placed last season. My plan is to get placed during the placements.
