Placement Experience

3.5

RCSM is the only goverenment college for public in the kolhapur district. And the patient inflow is very good. So one comes out as a decent doctor once you clear exams. They will subject you to compulsory 1 year internship as per state orders manadtory for every student. They take 10% of EXTERNS also those who have applied as per their merit ranks.

College Events

3.5

FRESHERS DAY: 1 st year students being welcomed by seniors. ANNUAL COLLEGE CULTURAL FEST: Consists of religious folk plays, dance and drama. SPORTS DAY AND INDOOR GAMES COMPETITION. Ganesh Chaturthi & Diwali FESTIVALS attract a huge crowd. There is an organising team consisting of 2 nd year medical students and team members from final year and 1 st year students. In short team work comes in play and you make many friends in the process juniors as well as seniors including few girlfriends.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Quite cheap. 40-45K per semester. In all 8 semesters. You need to pay in the form of demand draft of a nationalised bank. No other modes of payment accepted. No other additional fees and you will get a receipt of fee payment in case you have taken a loan / mortgage.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, scholarship programs are available in this college.

Campus Life

2.5

I am sure you will make long lasting memories with the college since you are going to spend 5 years living in there. The campus life is always buzzing with freshers, teenagers, some fancy bikes and ofcourse GIRLS. Library is one place where you need to make your headquarters unfortunately a sad truth about medicos life. But canteen and GYM KHana are also there to releive the stress.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Yes, the hostels in general are not very modern but decent enough for being attached to a government college. Usually you will be shring your room with your fellow mates, 2 persons in a room. A study desk, bed and a wardrobe is attached in the hostel. Rest all you need to manage. Bathrooms and Toilets are shared ones. Girls and Boys hostels are seperate. Wardon usually resides on the ground floor taking care of hostel needs.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are very helpful and you will usually get connected with a big bunch of them specially in libraries. They are a kind of mentors who help you out with whatver crisis you face during your time period in the college. But you need to earn their loyalty by doing some free work for them like helping them in their books or getting food some small things in short.

Admission

For pursuing a career in medical health sciences, you need to clear ALL India national level NEET examinations or Maharashtra state exams Common Entrance Test (CET). 15% seats are reserved for NRI Quota. The usual dates are for these exams are in april -may. Once the results of the tests are out you get a merit rank and also if you are in reservation category you get categorywise rank (50% seats are reserved for RESERVED CATEGORIES).The admission process starts by JULY.

Faculty

3.5

Being a goverenment college you cannot expect much from them. But the first 2 non clincial years FACULTY are good and quite student friendly. They help you in hard times too. Last clincial years (2 big years) the faculty being very busy with clinics is a mix faculty of one being top notch clinicians (role models) to the other end of spectrum.no good for dummies.rotting in governement hospitals.

Placement Experience:

They have great placement opportunities and even opportunities to go abroad for future studies and practice. They allow the students to explore such things but don't prepare and focus on a holistic development within the course years. They barely spend any money over co curricular activities and events.

Remarks:

Positive: The college's infrastructure is really good. Negative: Being a private medical college, a lot of money is charged and they even earn extra money by charging unnecessary numerous times, very expensive admission forms and other expenses. Faculty is okay, selected few are only good. It is placed in a town which isn't well developed (Ahmednagar) There could be more extra curricular events and less restrictions for students living in the hostel, but there aren't.
