K Venketswar Reddy's Review On NIST University, Berhampur

I took OJEE, my state rank was 2106. I opted for NIST, Berhampur because it was one of top rated college in eastern india in the terms of education, placement, research and much. It is also one the top five engineering colleges in odisha.

College itself provided Summer Courses in Oracle, Java, Robotics, Embedded Systems etc. Even some language courses like japanese was also there. We were allowed to go outside to do internships. Now the college itself is providing internships to students.

Out of 500 in our batch with more than 550 placements offers from Infosys, Capegemini, Wipro, HCL Tech, Mahindra Satyam, L&T IES, Accenture, Cadence, Mphasis, Sankalp Semiconductor, TVS Motors, Broadcom, Mindfire. The avg package was 3.25 Lakh per annum CTC. It varied from 3.19 lakh per annum to 5 lakh per annum.

The fee structure is expensive with approx. 1 lakh fees has to be deposited each year for academics, hostel, books, mess and bus facility. Even there is a provision of management sheets in the college.

I availed economic hardship which was Rs.1000/- per month, book grant scholarship which is Rs.4500/- per month. Other than this there are more then 50 scholarships are available in the campus. There is a provision of loan as well.

Our college campus life is awesome, the life in goomti's (small stalls outside college gate) is the witness of it. Gender ratio approx is 60:40. We do have various extracurricular activities in form of clubs like Robotics club, Eureka club, Astronomy club, club excel, renewable energy club, electronics club, yoga club and many.

Both sharing and individuals rooms were available in the hostel based on seniority. Hostel rent was approx. 15000 per annum with mess charges approx. 2000 per month.

We at have a alumni network through a centralised portal hosted on the college server. Which is the main channel of interaction between alumni-alumni, alumni-college.

Exams were semester based following BPTU pattern, exams and labs were frequent in initial two years and gradually it will be good.

The faculty of the institute was world class with two emeritus professors, more than 50 doctorates and a number of elite professors nist is the modern temple of learning in eastern india.
