Remarks
I chose the KIET Group of Institutions because this was the best college that I could get based on my class XII percentage and performance in entrance exams. It always ranks in the first III positions of top colleges in AKTU every year. It also scores a good enough rank in the list of top colleges released by NIRF every year. It has a good study environment and always invites mostly good students in the college. It has a no. of clubs in the college itself. I opted BTech course as I was passionate about technology from my childhood and always wanted to make a career in the same.
Course Curriculum Overview
Since the college is affiliated to AKTU university, so the curriculum is the same in one way or the other to that of other engineering colleges in India (very similar to even IITs). According to me, the weightage of the theoretical part is greater than the practical part in the course. The course is not 100% related to the actual work being done in the industries nowadays. But the college leaves no stones unturned when it comes to giving practical exposure to the students. The faculties motivate the students to involve in practical work like making projects for the technical fest- Innotech. The faculties mostly are good and teach the course curriculum very well. I would like to mention Sachin Sir who teaches Mathematics subject in first year. He teaches the subject very well and has a good command over the subject.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, I opted for an internship from the college. The college keeps the students updated about the internships through mails. I was selected in Career Launcher having the role of Business Development. The stipend for the same was Rs 5K/ month.
College Events
The college organizes Innotech(technical festival) every year which showcases the latest projects based on the trending technologies. Talking about the cultural festivals, the college organizes an intra college fest (Epoque) and an inter-college fest (Prastuti) every year. Both of them are very good and also invites top celebs such as Neha Kakkar, Meet Brothers, etc. in the college premises, there are various food joints like Cafeteria, Hero's, Big Treat (BT) and Amul. There is MPC(Multipurpose Complex)for all hostel needs such as Magii, biscuits, notebooks, etc. The college also organizes Fresher's party for all the fresher's every year. Overall, the college life is quite good.
Hostel Facilities
College offers hostel facility within the college premises itself. The hostel rooms( single-seater, double seater and triple seater) are good and have all the basic facilities including clean washrooms, drinking water, WIFi, etc. There are a no. of PGs outside the college also. They also provide the same facilities. They are cheaper than the college's hostels and cost around Rs 80 K( double seater) for the whole year.
