Xaviers- A Journey

The college is a Jesuit college that is managed by the Society of Jesus(S.J). It is a wonderful place with the buildings and the grounds. The college gives a lot of opportunities to the students to show their talents through various programs which are held in the college. The college provides a bigger platform for all the sports and helps them to participate more and more. The college strictly follows discipline on campus and has limitations regarding the students. It follows the virtue of punctuality. The admission process in the college follows the online pattern of applying and registering for the course. Due to the COVID situation, the college would be doing the document verification also online. The college has already released the merit list of the Bcom department. There is a lot of difference between other colleges and Xavier's college. The college provides government-aided courses and also provides a good infrastructure. There are periodicals like XAP & CHRONICLES.

The BCOM offered as a course by the college is a tie-up course with the TATA CONSULTANCY SERVICES(TCS) and is known as the BCOM-BPS course. The faculty in the college are very helpful to the students and are very well-qualified professors. The students in the class are nearly 70. The faculty puts in a lot of effort on their part. During these troubled times when the college is not operating the faculties have arranged online class sessions and various programs for the students. The faculties at Xaviers college are very qualified. The Head of the Department(HOD) of the BCOM-BPS course is a CA. The other faculties are also very well qualified for the students. The college follows a pattern of CIA(College Internal Assessment) and External exams which are known as the final exams. The proportion of the internal-external exams follows a pattern of 30:70. The internal marks include attendance, assignments, modules 1&2, and CIA. The external exam includes an exam which is of marks.

The course which I am into is BCOM BPS and it is a tie-up with the TATA CONSULTANCY SERVICES(TCS). From the 3rd year in college, students are eligible for campus placements. The previous batch applied for the campus placement and out of 40 students 28 students were offered the placement. My plan after the bachelor's degree is to do for master's in Business administration.

The college offers a BCOM BPS course as a self-finance course and it doesn't come under the Gujarat University (GU). The total fees are Rs. 60000 yearly. The college offers various scholarships if a student excels in academics. The course is a tie-up with the TATA CONSULTANCY SERVICES-TCS. During the year college recruitment takes place and students are offered jobs in the firm.

The college offers a big platform for students to show their talents through various programs. The college holds a cultural festival in the college which goes by the name CULFEST. The college also participated in the youth festival which is conducted by the university. The college has a big library for the students which provides books and hence the decorum of the college is maintained. The college has non-ac. classrooms. There are more than 50 classrooms in the college which also include the bigger auditorium-type classroom. The college supports a lot of sports and ecmxtra curricular activities on campus. There is a football ground, cricket ground, basketball court, volleyball court, and a hockey ground on campus. There are various pages which are carried out by the alumni of the college and also the pages which provide info to the present students.
