Remarks

I entered this college through the state level medical entrance exam which was TS-EAMCET that time. Now it is the nationwide NEET-UG exam. The GOOD ASPECTS: The college faculties here are highly qualified. Theory classes are taken well, the lecture halls in the institution are well equipped with all the facilities and the practical classes are taken in well-equipped labs. The clinical postings are conducted for students from the beginning of the second year. The professors guide you well for the exams. The BAD ASPECTS: The location of the college is slightly outside the main city. The number of patients has limited so less clinical exposure, but it serves the purpose. The management is a bit strict when it comes to those who fail their exams and those who are short of attendance. The annual fest named Pulsation is a really good event. The college has an official website.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I entered it through my merit. Each MBBS batch comprises of 150 students but they are divided into smaller batches for practical classes for better teaching. The best part about the institution is their Faculty. The faculty is well qualified and well experienced. They are really well oriented with the teaching methods and the exam patterns. The theory classes are taught in well-equipped lecture halls and most of the lectures are conducted through PowerPoint presentations. For the practical classes, there are well-equipped labs and the professors take great interest to teach practicals to the interested candidates. the dissection hall has cadavers which are less in number but they serve the purpose. this is a small drawback of this institution. From the second year onwards clinical postings are conducted in the hospital through the number of patients is less, it is sufficient for an undergraduate. Several exams are conducted to train the students well.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

One year mandatory internship is offered at the institute hospital where the students are taught several aspects of the hospital practice and work. The students learn several things including patient handling, handling outpatients and inpatients, taking care of emergencies and casualties and management of critical patients but the stipend is not paid.

Placement Experience

3.5

There is no concept of placements happening in a medical college. The students who graduate from here work in several reputed hospitals based on their clinical skills and knowledge and earn according to the prevailing salary structures. Almost all the students may get placed as there is always a requirement of doctors.

Fees and Financial Aid

If you enter through merit, you are allotted seat under 'A' category and the annual fee is 60000, but an extra amount is taken at the time of admission which includes the mandatory university fee and other associated charges. The fee for the management quota is much higher and in accordance with the guidelines from the government. Timely charges are taken for various services including the library and the other facilities of the college. The internship is educative but without stipend. Students receive scholarships from the state and central government based on their eligibility and financial background. There is nothing like placements in medical college, unlike the engineering colleges. the students after their graduation work even in the most reputed hospitals of the city based on their clinical skills.

Campus Life

2.5

The annual fest is named Pulsation which takes place during the month of November-December which is conducted in a grand manner. It comprises of several sports and cultural events along with literary events such as quiz and debate. The library has most of the necessary books available but with restricted timings into the reading area. The classrooms are spacious and well equipped.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The fact that this course provides you a very dignitorial position in society attracts me the most into it. The financial benefits are also quite impressive. The curriculum extending for 5.5 years provides you all the required knowledge to practice as a general doctor in the country. There is a total of 19 subjects for 4.5 years in total. 1 year rotatory internship in various clinical department in affiliated hospital gives you very good clinical exposure also. The internship here is stipended by ?26000-/- per month. Every year mcc is renewing the syllabus according to to demands of indian medical system. Frequency of exams are quite adjustable upto rth year. 4th year is quite hectic and tiring with syllabus.
