Remarks

On the whole, SSN is a great place to study and to grow. The college management is wonderful and has a clean track record. We don't have complaints at all. They're really helpful.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Yes. The curriculum is set by Anna University as SSN is an affiliated college. Apart from syllabus, we learn quite a lot. A lot of workshops will be conducted every month and students can opt to become members of societies such as IEEE. The college even provides funding for student teams to carry out projects and even publish papers. Industrial Visits are allowed for the students of 2nd and 3rd years.

Placement Experience

4

I haven't been to a placement session although I've heard from seniors that they're excellent. A lot of IT product and service companies arrive every year. Core companies for departments like ECE, EEE and Chemical are also better than other colleges.

College Events

5

It is a nation wide symposium held for 2 days in the month of September. Huge crowds of students from all over Tamilnadu and some from other states arrive to participate in the events and bag prizes. Workshops will be held and magazines will be published. It is a 3-day fest that happens in the month of March. It has a theme Carried over every year and related events take place. Events include dance competitioms, music competitions, quizzes and variety shows. SSN has seen great personalities like Shri Kamal Hassan who are known to arrive at SSN and host an event of their own. Apart from the above events, every department has its own symposium and society events open for SSN students only. Different clubs host different events and contests regularly.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure is transparent and moderate. SSN does not ask for any donations. It is purely merit based. Our college accepts fees through Cheque, DD, or PayTM. For students who enter through Anna University Counselling, the fees is about ?30, 000 lesser than people who enter through entrance exam.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers a lot of scholarship opportunities to students. Toppers of CBSE and state examinations in their 12th have to pay zero rupees towards their fees. It will be entirely exempted. Rural students will also be exempted from their fees. Every semester toppers will receive a scholarship amount starting from 25000 to 75000 depending on their Ranking.

Campus Life

5

The Campus Life of SSN is one of the bests out there. There are equal number of girls and boys and there is no biasing amongst students and teachers. Students from all over the country could be seen in SSN. People from other continents come to SSN to work on their research. The labs and classrooms are of wonderful infrastructure. There are numerous clubs in SSN like Tech Club, Quiz Club, Dance Club, Tamil Club, Literary Club, Music Club, Photography Club, NSS, Red Cross among others. These clubs hold biweekly meets and represent SSN at other college events.

Alumni/Alumna

SSN has an alumni network where people put forward their queries/doubts/job vacancies etc. Apart from that, every year we conduct an alumni reunion where current students are allowed to interact with them. Generally the seniors are very helpful and guide us through everything - from exams to projects to internships to placements.

Admission

After my class 12, I wanted to do engineering. My friend's sister was studying in SSN at that time and she said it was a good college. I got their brochure and went through the departments and subjects. I wanted to do ECE because of my interest. So we went to their office and submitted the application. After the admission date got over, students were split and given different slots to appear for the entrance exam. It was basic aptitude and maths. I got 77/100 in the entrance examination. It was followed by an interview held by different heads of departments and professors. They asked basic interview questions and asked for my preferred department. It went well and we left. It was a very beautiful atmosphere and I had decided that I wanted to study at SSN. About 15 days later, I recieved a mail stating I got admitted into the ECE department at SSN and was asked to go there and complete the formalities. And that's how I got admitted in SSN.

Faculty

4.5

There are about 40 staff in my department alone, out of which atleast 20 have done or are doing their PhDs. The average age of staffs vary from 30s to 50s. They are really helpful in every domain. Every staff publishes a paper once in a while, and sometimes they have students help them and co-publish.

Placement Experience:

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation
