Remarks

College management was good but it can be better. Sometimes I used to get irritated due to college politics and thus affecting our classes. If it can reduce such politics them no doubt our college will be the best in the state.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The BCom curriculum is very productive. I enjoyed the journey of the course. The exam pattern was reasonably good but it can be better. Exam held two times semester wise and two internal too. It helped me in managing my time. Through this journey, My concentration also got increased. Boosted my morale. No doubt it will help me to be a better professional in the future.

Placement Experience

1.5

Actually, I was never part of the placement of our college. So I don't remember any. All local companies came to select the best candidate for their jobs. The percentage of students is very less probably around 5% because of less participation in the campus placement. No institution does not take any special steps to prepare the students for the placement season.

College Events

3.5

Academic function. Local cultural function. Events such seminars and programs that will help students to gain knowledge. We enjoy every bit of events which are held in our college. Students take actively participate in all the events. It is like festival dor them.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The program fee is reasonable. i. e. feasible. Even the poorest section of the student can afford education in our college. There are no additional fees to secure admission to the course. To be honest no college provides transparency in the fee breakdown and our college is no exception. But fees are feasible and affordable.

Fees and Financial Aid

State governments do provide various scholarship programs to merit and not merit students. Such program name as Medhabruti for merit student prerana for non merit students.

Campus Life

4.5

Gender ratios are like 2:1. 2boys and 1 girl. Different cultural events are held on a timely basis every year. In the month of December or sometimes in the new year January month extracurricular activities held in the college. Indoor and outdoor games. College level cricket competition, and much more such activities. Students from different local colleges also take part in the college-level competition. Debates, writing competitions also held.

Hostel Facilities

2

No, I have not opted for a hostel. There are 3 boys hostel in our college and 2 girls hostel. Each hostel had sufficient rooms where students can live comfortably. There was also a playground where all hostel students play in the evening.

Alumni/Alumna

I have never interacted that much with seniors but my friends used to say they really help in various activities especially college election activity. Some seniors were kind of helping weak students in the study. Providing notes, revision classes, and so on. I never required all these because I was preparing my notes by myself only.

Admission

I opt for the commerce course because I wanted to pursue a Chartered Accountant profession. So it was immense opportunities to chose the commerce stream and pursue my passion. Factors that made me choose this Institution. It is the only autonomous college where I reside, so saving some expenses. Moreover, it is one of the oldest colleges in the town and educational qualities are very promising. And I am happy I was the part of this college.

Faculty

3

Faculty were highly qualified in our college. They know how to make students understand the concept and which actually helped me a lot. There were tentatively 4hours of class every day. The average age of all the teachers was between 25-60 years. They all were experts in their subject field.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum of B.Com under Sambalpur University covers important subjects like Accounting, Business Law, Economics, Management and Taxation which are essential for future studies and careers in finance or commerce. The structure is simple to follow and helps students build a good base in theory. Semester exams are conducted on time and the difficulty level is moderate. A student who consistently studies can score well without extreme pressure. However, there is a lack of practical exposure such as industry visits, internships or real-world business case studies. Also, subjects related to modern digital business trends like data analytics, advanced Excel, and GST practicals should be included to make students more job-ready. Overall, the curriculum is relevant but needs more updates to match the current professional requirements

Placement Experience:

In our college, final-year students are eligile for campus placements. While i don't recall the specific companies that visited, one of my friends interviewed with Axis Bank and got selected with a package of around 2.4 lakh. The exact percentage of students are placed and details of average or highest packages are unclear to me, but the placements process provides opportunities of those actively seeking jobs. After completing my degree, I plan to pursue an independent career rather that seeking a traditioinal job placement.
