Remarks

My dad's colleagues recommended the College to me. After looking into it, found it was quite good. The infrastructure might be a little on the lower side, but the Student-friendly management and well-versed faculty more than make up for it. The admission process was very smooth, with no delays. The reason I chose SVIT was that it provided me with the environment I preferred to study with, and was also nearer to my area of residence.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I choose the field of ECE because I previously had a little exposure to programming which could help me a little, and also wanted to explore newer domains for my career. The faculty-student ratio is quite good. The ECE department has around 17-20 faculty members who are dedicated to helping the students learn the concepts, rather than cramming the information. We also have a proctoring system for teachers to mentor/guide students, and a review system to access the teaching capability of every teacher. The standard of question paper is very good, ECE subjects are tough as usual but the teacher's efforts in helping us understand is commendable.

Internships Opportunities

4

We are given internship opportunities through collaboration with IEEE, Internshala, Courses, etc which offer more benefits to us, students. The management highly encourages us to take up such opportunity and gain the necessary skills required.

Placement Experience

3

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester. Around 15-20 companies visit the campus for placement drives. Students are put through a series of tests before they are selected. Our previous batch (seniors) got more placements compared to other batches, hence more is expected out of us. Around 40-50% are placed through college placement activities, and around 5-10% are placed through joint placement drive's in different colleges. I plan to study further and get my Master's degree before thinking about a job, so I would probably opt out of placement activities to focus on other skills required.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is different for different courses. It can be further reduced if we come by merit (KCET) or we have excellent achievement in other activities. The waiver is completely dependable on the course being selected. Various scholarships are available, wherein students are further encouraged by the management to do well in obtaining better scholarships and rewards.

Campus Life

4

We have an annual cultural fest called Sanchalana and a technical fest called TechVidya, which is attended by students from different colleges. We also have a well-equipped library, both hard-bind and digital, which is accessible by everyone. The entire campus is under CCTV surveillance, accessible by the Principal and the Management Administrator. Sports and extra-curricular activities are well encouraged, without letting our academic results fall down. We have many student activity groups like NSS, music club, dance club, IEEE student branches, etc. They are a little strict with regards to attendance, but that's for our betterment itself.
