Remarks

It was a very strict college with regards to dressing girls were only allowed to wear salwar kameez no leggings, jeans or chudidar allowed. Phones were strictly banned. Faculty was good in terms of teaching. These are the highlights

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum and exams are as dictated by the Mumbai University. The college had a couple of placements but all were bpo related jobs so i did not participate in any. Curriculum was not really designed to make you industry ready. What v studied and the work in the related feild most of us did were completely different. Yes the basics of the subjects thought were definitely useful to some extent. There's were no industrial visits or picnics ever organised by the college.

Placement Experience

1

There are no internships. Campus placement are just for name sake and the participating employers are mostly bpos. No steps were taken for campus placement preparations.

College Events

3

There are no festivals all we had were our annual day and annual sports day. Not many students were interested in participating as well. Sports day was conducted in our own campus premises and anual day was mostly organised in Kalidas natya Mandir auditorium.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee was below 1000 for each semester and was paid through demand draft only. There is no donation that college accepts fr securing seats they are very transparent in their dealings. Fees was very low and we were provided with a detailed breakdown of the fee Structure

Fees and Financial Aid

College offered scholarship opportunities to the under privileged deserving students. I don't have much knowledge of the scholarship area as never applied for 1

Campus Life

2.5

It was a female dominated college with 60%girls and 40%boys. We had different clubs like literary club, arts club, drama club, sports club etc so each club performed various competitions round the year. There was never a case of distinguishing the students on basis of caste creed religion, economic status etc. The college had strict rules against it also against ragging.

Alumni/Alumna

There has been no such scenario. We do not have any alumni network as such. Lot of discussions were initiated to do something of that sort but nothing has been streamlined yet

Admission

I randomly submitted forms in multiple colleges after my 12th in 2012 for bcom. According to the Marks obtained in 12th. Lists were put. I found my name on the second list according to the Marks obtained. Post list i paid the fees and got admission.

Faculty

4

We had around 25 lectures majority above 40 yrs of age and most of them were post graduates with specialization in multiple feilds. 95% of the staff were very efficient in making us understand the concepts clearly. Yes majority of the lectures had relevant certications.

Placements in my college are decent but not very high. students usually become eligible from the final year and few companies visit for roles like accounting assistant, sales, customer service. The average package is usually around Rs.2LPA-Rs.3LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Due to NEP the course has been more developed to the students and teachers also explain the topocs to us very clearly and the thing should be change that the timing of the paper are at morning time which is at 7:30am it should be 10 or 10:30 because this time the students get late to the paper and didnt get time to prep.

Course Curriculum Overview:

One of the key aspects of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the B.Com course at Sydenham College was its strong foundation in core commerce subjects such as Accounting, Economics, Business Law, and Finance. The structured progression from basic to advanced concepts, along with exposure to subjects like taxation and auditing, made the program particularly appealing for students aiming for careers in finance, CA, CS, or management.

Placements society of college is just a decade old and still top companies like Zues Capital, Barclays, and Icici bank are among the top colleges that have become a part of ecosystem where 30-40 students is what each companies hires every year. Not many though as too many sections and 500+ students means getting placed even half the students can be a task where Mithibai placement percentage is 60 odd percentage.
