Remarks
Practical knowledge is rare and instead of completion of degree in four years it stretches to around 4. 5 years which is hectic for the graduating students as they need to take admission on time for further studies.
Course Curriculum Overview
The focus on research is not very well. Exams are frequent but labs are hardly on time. The main thing that keeps students on track is Self Studying. Mostly exam papers come from external universities which is a great step in making a good engineer.
Placement Experience
There is harldy a placement opportunity from our college. Graduates have to look around for themselves. Internship opportunities are provided yearly. No stipend is provided to graduating students who intern.
College Events
There are musical events almost every year. Most of the the students participate in them. Also technical tours are frequent. Camps are organised every year for the adventurous students. But the finances are to be paid by the student himself/herself.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Feasible. Currently fee for B. E. is INR 45, 000 per annum. Before, for our batch it was INR 37, 800. Also other services provided require around INR 3000 p. a. Departmental fee of INR 10, 000 is to be paid for the whole course.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarship for the low income students is provided which covers most of the annual fee around INR 25, 000 - 30, 000. Student loan is provided by the local bank which is to be paid after the completion of degree.
Campus Life
Gender ratio is around 65 male to 35 female. Different student bodies are functional which look after the extracurricular activities in the college. Tolerance rate is quite good in case of Gender, Race, Religion, etc.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni with great academic records have seminars with current students which is quite helpful. Seniors also engage with the Junior students in case they need help in any matter. They are quite friendly with Juniors.
Admission
Admission is for the students who apper in Common Entrance Test (CET) and who qualify the cut off score. I chose Civil Engineering because of my interest in structures and mechanics of different materials (like soil, fluid).
Faculty
Faculty is well qualified but most of them don't have practical knowledge (except a few). They mostly are the graduates of our college who teach just after finishing their degrees. This practice deprives students of the practical knowledge they require.
