Entrance Preview

I had percentage of 80%. The admission was on the basis of marks obtained in the Board examinations of Class XII (ISC in my case ). Once shortlisted the shortlisted candidates were interviewed by Senior Faculty members. The interview was around the vision the student has for his / her future and why they want to do law.I was selected and joined the college in 2001.

Internships Opportunities

We were encouraged to intern and gain experience .It was compulsory for us to intern one full season with a practicing advocate. This helped us understand the procedural functioning of Courts in India. We also got an insight into the life of a lawyer.When I look back I feel they were a great learning experience. There is no fixed stipend. Individual lawyers generally donot pay interns. Companies can pay anything between Rs 5000 to Rs 12000/- .

Placement Experience

Not everybody opts for placements.At a rough estimate 75% of people appearing for placements were placed. ICICI Bank , Paras Kuhaad Law firm, Majmudar & Co, etc were some of teh Companies that came. As it has been 10 years it is difficult to remember more than this.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure was yearly at my time.It was very reasonable . Approx Rs 4000 per month.Now it is likely to have changed. Its likely payment is semester wise.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am not aware of scholarships / loans .However I am sure there are sports quota / NRI quota etc.There is help for poor students.

Campus Life

The campus is huge and there are outdoor and indoor games for students. Cricket, Football Hockey, table tennis, chess etc are games played.There was an intra college moot court called Raghavendra Phadnis Moot Court competition.

Exam Structure

The exam structure from 2002 batch is now semester system. As I joined ILS in 2001 our bacth didnot have semester system. The semester system is better organized and less stressful for students.

The placements in college is moderate. Some students from BALLB grab high packages like 15-20 lakhs, but these are exceptions. Normally students have on average 8-10 lakhs mostly in law firms and banks

GLC Mumbai is the greatest law college!!

Placement Experience:

Trilegal, JSA, AZB, Tatva Legal and various other law firms from Mumbai itself offers us jobs worth 10 to 20 lakhs. In a cours where only a few colleges have placements ours is one of those. It has tie-ups with many lawyers and firms whichbare into litigation or arbitration.

As per the seniors the placements are not that great but decent, Around 30-40% of the students get placed, The average package is around 8 LPA, There are opportunities in law firms and as to become a corporate lawyer, I desire to work in a law firm and proceed to become a litigation lawyer

Placement Experience:

There are a lot of in internship opportunities which are being provided by the college placement committee. Also you may get a lot of other opportunities when you try to go for some law Firm. To what I feel if you do a lot of internships and parallel you also perform academically fine then it's a very hefty wholesome package for you to extend in your careers for which this law college is the best platform to take off.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course 8/10 aa course is highly good for me and i chose this field because of the respect it have our curriculum is good only as first 2 years we have BLS subjects then we have law subjects after that. As it is an integrated course it surely serves the purpose and makes you ready for real-life field only but as we have 75-25 pattern it gets hard to write that much in the examination in that much hour also we have to prepare for internals alot then assignment costs alot of time and make the whole study schedule hectic

ILS Law College - One of the best college of India

ILS law college is a great college with established history of more than 100 years. It has great alumni base, good placements, beautiful campus and affordable fee structure. I appeared for clat but I could not get any NLU. I believe my preparation lagged in some aspects of practice. I got accepted in Symbiosis Law college Pune. Comparison of SLS Pune and ILS Pune - 1. fees - ILS total fees - 204000 SLS total fees - 2000000 2. ILS has better alumni and long term history 3. ILS has better and bigger campus than SLS 4. SLS has better placements than ILS. 5. ILS has better campus life than SLS. Other than SLS pune, I got admitted in Nirma college of Law and Army institute of Mohali. I chose ILS Pune over them because of the overall exposure that the college provided my and fees structure that better suited to my needs. Admission process of ILS Pune is through MHCET exam Once you clear it, you appear for counselling rounds, and give your preference of universities. Then according to your rank the college is alloted, you can lock it or put for upgradation.
