One of the top law University in Kerala

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is in line with the Bar council of India's defined guideline for a bachelor's level course in the domain of legal studies. Semester wise system of examination is followed where buy a total of 10 semester examinations are to be cleared in the entire duration of the course. Theoretical and practical evaluations are held before the end semester examinations.

Placement Experience :

The University has a dedicated placement cell for ensuring that students get placement through campus recruitment. Not everybody gets a good offer through campus recruitment but I can say that most of the students can get a decent offer. In terms of internship one has too manage things on his own.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fees of the University is bit on higher side. For the 5 year course duration one has to pay around 8.5 to 9.5 lakh rupees. The fee for each year has to be paid at the start of academic year and it is around 1. 75 to 1.85 lacs except for the first year where the fee is around 2 lacs.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Is Central Government of India offers scholarship to the student through its national scholarship scheme. Kerala state government also extends scholarship to the student provided that they are the domicile of the state. Banks like Canara Ban, SBI bank and other private sector banks also extend educational loans to the students.

Campus Life :

The University has various clubs for extra curricular activities like moot courts, sports, workshops etc. Events like foundation Day, Republic Day, Independence Day are celebrated. Infrastructure wise the University is very good as it is one of the top universities in the country.

Admission :

I got admission into the University based on my score in the Common Law admission test that is CLAT. After qualifying the CLAT I sat for the counselling in which I was allotted a seat in the university. After the grant of seat I was called to complete the procedural formalities for admission. Since it is one of the top law University in the country it was natural for me to opt for it.

Faculty :

Professor in our university have a good grip in their respective disciplines. Some of them are retired lawyers who have practiced at High court and Supreme court level. There teaching methodology lays focus on imparting applicability of each concept and theory so that students can incorporate those thing in practice when they go out to practice law.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum appealed to me because it includes practical case studies and moot court sessions, which make legal theory more tangible. These aspects are crucial as they prepare us to apply what we learn in real legal scenarios. I feel adequately prepared for real-world legal practice due to the practical nature of the curriculum. It also lays a solid foundation for those considering advanced studies in specialized legal While the curriculum is solid, more emphasis on current legal issues and interdisciplinary perspectives could provide a more holistic understanding. Interactive classes and more practical exercises would enhance learning and engagement.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The academics are more inclined towards the litigation side. There is freedom to answer legal questions according to our interpretation, which is what the profession requires. Marks are not awarded to 'right answers', but to the quality of our interpretation of law. Teachers always teach about the latest developments of a particle section. Famous judgements as well as the latest judgements are taught. Prompt conduction of exams and publication of results. However, revaluation usually takes a couple of months.

Exams are not conducted timely. There is a big delay in exam conducting. Also, there is some delay due to the widespread of covid 19. Exams are easy to pass if we study well. There are so many books in the library which help us to prepare for the exams.

A number of students from their second year placed for internships. Job placements are done in the final year. Most of the students choose to practice after graduation. There is a number of a law firm in Ernakulam. Thus internship opportunities are greater for students. There is 28 days internship every year as a syllabus. 80% of students are placed in companies. I'm planning to practice for 3 to 4 years along with preparation for judicial service exams.
