Remarks

It was established in the year 2004. It is affiliated to university of calicut, approved by government of kerala and AICTE, New delhi. The college has a lush green campus. It is a self financing private college.

Course Curriculum Overview

B tech in EEE, mechanical, ECE, CSE, Civil, MBA in finance, marketing, human resource, systems management, M tech in CSE, structural, power electronics, embedded systems are available.B tech lateral entry is also available.

Placement Experience

The placement of the college is poor and less than 30 students get placed every year. Placement cell doesn't work properly. Only few companies visit the campus every year. Most of the students go for higher studies like M tech or MBA.

Fee Structure And Facilities

B tech fee is 80000 rupees per annum course duration is of 4 years. MBA fee is 95000 rupees per annum course duration is of 2 years. M tech fee is 1 lakh per annum course duration is of 2 years and selection is done through GATE exam. Scholarships are also available.

Campus Life

Various activities like debates, quizzes are held throughout the year by the clubs and societies. The college actively participates in sports tournaments. Inter branch football and cricket matches are also held. Workshops are organized from time to time.

Admission

I had given state entrance exam and got admission in this college through counselling process. One has to show all the intermediate certificates and marksheet with required marks to complete the admission process.

Faculty

The faculty members are cooperative and helpful. Counsellings and doubt sessions are organized by them from time to time. They also help the students to complete their projects. They are well qualified in their respective subjects.

Placement Experience:

we are eligible for placement from the 7th sem. Many famous and small compines vist our college. Infosys, WIPRO, TCS vist our college. But the big companies take only few student. Highest package was 1,00,000. And the average package is around 4,00,000. Almost all students gets placed from the campus .

My Experience at NIT Calicut

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the EEE course curriculum around 8-8.5 /10 in terms of relevance.The curriculum provides strong fundamentals in core electrical engineering subjects and prepares students well for core jobs and higher studies.The course curriculum was revised in 2023, and our batch is the 1st batch under the new curriculum. however, there are still limited coding ,AI and data science subjects in EEE ,which could be improved. Exams are conducted times per semester and are generally moderately difficult.

Main companies visiting the campus are IBM , TCS ,TATA ELXSI,L&T, Cognizant,Toshiba,Vanenburg,Kalkitech,Sobha,Mrf ,Juspay,Dynolt and many more. 70 % students get placement Highest package is 16 lpa and average is 5 lpa After degree higher studies can be considered.

CSE student at JEC

Placement Experience:

The placements here are quite good, but not great. Because only 50% of students in a class are getting placed. From S7 onwards the placements have been started for our department. But for other departments, from S8 only companies have arrived. For CSE department, many companies are coming which include Cognizant, SOTI, Mitsogo, EY, 6D Technologies, etc. Our senior batch students have placed at many companies in this. But comparing with other senior batches, the placements at our batch is really bad.

Is engineering here worth it?

Companies such as nissan,infosys,commandtech,bimlabs,gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

I was really admitted via allocation, but I later switched to a management seat due to the scholarship.I used to get $40,000 a year in merit fees, but after switching to management, I only get $29,000.
