Stella Michael's Review On St. Michael's College - [SMC], Cherthala

Our M.com course curriculum is well managed and approved by University of Kerala. Our 2 year course which include core subjects of commerce and business, accounts. There are few added courses also available. We have 4 semester and internal exams between semesters.

Placement in our department is average. The college must focus on this area more and try to bring more placement in our department so that student gets campus placement. Internship opportunity is not available in this college we have to find it on our own.

Fee for the post graduation course M.Com is about 5600 for first year and 5000 for second year. Fee of this course is feasible to all students. This includes tution and other fee charged by the college. Hostel and transportation, examination fee and other extra fee are not included.

Suvarna Jubilee Merit Scholarship provided by state government. This is given to students who belong to BPL category having scored 50% or more in the qualifying examination, and is in first year of an UG or Graduate course, I got INR 10,000/ -annum in this scholarship.

Many extra curricular activities are held, like state and National level seminars are conducted periodically, Remedial coaching programme for academically backward students is given, we have facilities for providing career guidance and personal counseling to students, many clubs are there which organises various activities in our college. Gender ratio is equal in our department.

Admission in Post graduation degree in this college was given based on my score in the graduation degree. After applying online I was called for interview and given admission to this course. I had B.com in under graduation, one should have 50% and above in degree for this course.

In M.com department the faculty are good they hold teaching experience of many years. They have vast knowledge about the subject and are good in teaching. They are well competent to teach the course to us. They are well experienced in teaching the course with good teaching skills.
