Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is well in line with the national standards of medical education. Clinical knowledge and exposure are given good weightage. Theoretical exams are held annually. Mid term exams and unit tests are conducted from time to time.

Placement Experience

Placement rate is high in our college. Students from the college are placed in big hospital chains like Apollo, Fortis etc. Many have got empanelled in government hospitals as well. Internship opportunities are offered by the college. However I applied for internship in government college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is quite affordable as it's a public college. I paid around 14,000 during the time of admission as the first year fee. The fee for the subsequent years is also same. One can get scholarships as well. Scholarships for meritorious students are offered

Fees and Financial Aid

Education loans can be availed from public and private banks. Through Vidya Lakshmi portal one can easily apply for education loans. Tamil Nadu state government's scholarship is also available for meritorious students. Apart from that central government scholarships are also at offer.

Campus Life

College infrastructure is quite good. One can find the finest of the medical labs in our college. Sports facilities are also top notch. There is a big ground around the college for outdoor games. Lecture halls are spacious and well equipped.

Admission

I got admission to the college through the NEET entrance exam. Scored around 540 in the NEET exam. Applied for the college under the All India category seats (15%) and got it in the later rounds of the counseling. I also gave the AIIMS exam but could not get enough marks to get a seat.

Faculty

Faculty of our college is good. We have some of the best professional doctors teaching us. They help us understand the things to the best of their knowledge. They are quite happy and receptive to our queries. Teachers guide us well in practical labs as well.

the course is very challenging obviously as we're studying to become doctors. it could've been better by increasing the duration of the course. our first year/ semester instead of it being for 12 months was only of 9-10 months so our portions are being pushed a little. it happened due the scam etc around neet and our course start date was pushed. the course could be made easier by increasing the duration of the course. we have exams every week which does make it easier to keep up with the portions but makes it too stressful for us. maybe instead of keeping exams on monday they could change it to saturday so we can relax and be free on sundays.

You need NEET to get into medicine and colleges are based on your rank. I could have chosen thoothukudi but i went with kanyakumari mainly due to the environment of the college , weather . The campus overall looked more green and inviting. Admission is based on counselling , cpuld be tamil nadu counselling or all india counselling depending on from where you are .
