NIBM is one of the best institutions when it comes to banking and finance. The course is designed in a way that it gives you an edge over your contemporaries in this domain and offers a campus life that is quite fun and eventful.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is a niche one and focuses on banking and finance from day 1. The pedagogy followed is a mix of classroom study and case study discussion which makes the knowledge base very relevant and one can learn the real-world application. The courses focus on the many skills that are required today by the banking industry.
Placement Experience
NIBM has a track record of 100% placements since the inception of the PGDM program. The NIBM has a student-driven placement policy wherein a committee of student placement coordinators build to drive the placements in consultation with the administration. The companies that visited recently include, but not limited to, HDFC BANK, HSBC, KPMG, AXIS BANK, AIRTEL PAYMENTS BANK, CARE RATINGS, APTIVAA, SURYASOFT, etc.
College Events
There are two main events. First is the annual management cultural fest Adhikosh, second is the technical management event Colloquium. Adhikosh is a 3-day fun-filled event with many competition, both technical and non-technical, as well as cultural performances. While Colloquium is a technical event especially for the management students across India.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The total fees are 12 lacs for a total of two years. It is divided as 6lacs a year and it includes charges like academic fee, hostel fee, library fee, internet fee etc. A detailed break-up of the fees can be found at the NIBM website under the PGDM section where all fees and charges are mentioned transparently.
Fees and Financial Aid
NIBM is listed under the premier institution's list of many banks and any student can avail student loan faculties with ease. Apart from that NIBM also offers scholarship to students on merit cum means basis.
Campus Life
The gender ratio of NIBM is well balanced at 51:49. The batch has great diversity with students from different part of the country. So it's safe to say that in terms of gender, diversity, NIBM has a great mix with both men and women from different part of India.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is really good and better than many of the hostel of many colleges who charge a hefty hostel fee. We have a residential course to we have to stay on the campus where comfortable accommodation is provided to the students. The hostel is equipped with all the amenities a student may need.
Alumni/Alumna
NIBM has a great alumni network with its alumni gracing many well-established institutions of baking and finance. Many of the alumni are at the top positions in many companies and are on a successful career path.
Admission
I had applied through CAT, XAT and CMAT. I opted for this course because this institute offers a niche course in the banking and finance sector and this was what I was looking for, in order to pursue a career in the banking sector. The placement is good and the ROI offered is among the best in the country. The companies that come to recruit are one of the best in the banking sector.
Faculty
The faculties are very learned academicians who know the subjects very well and can impart knowledge and deeper understanding of the course and the nuances of it. They are all highly experienced and have the relevant industry knowledge as well, apart from the theoretical aspects.
