The New collegee, Kolhapur

Faculty of the college is very supportive and always tries to solve the problems of the students. Some members of office staff of the college are quite non cooperative. College administration should stop the external interference.

The curriculum of B.A. English course is designed by Board Of Studies of Shivaji University as New college is affiliated to Shivaji University. Curriculum of the course is useful to raise interest of students in research based studies. As my course is not related to industries, different visits to literary background places were organized for us to make learning more intresting

Job fair is organized by the New collegee every year with help of local municipality. As many as 20 to 25 companies from different background participate in this job fair. All the final ayear students appear for the interview. Percentage of placements of students is quite promising. Institution has it's own placement cell which arrange different skill improving lectures and workshops for the students.

Welcome function and Farewell function is arranged by different departments in the college. All the cultural functions are celebrated in the college and not only students but also faculty also takes part in it. Sports day is celebrated every year for all the students. Different competitions such as Essay competition, Handwriting competotion, Poster presentation, Elocution, etc are arranged.

Fee structure of all courses is quite feasible for all the students. Also students belonging to the minorities and economically backward class gets freeships and scholarships. Students can also pay fee in installments. Different scholarships awarded by central government, state government and University are also given to students. There are no hidden charges included by institution.

College offers all the scholarships are given by central government, state government and university. Some scholarships are merit based and some scholarships are minorities based also some scholarships are based on the income of parents of the students.

As college is situated at the heart of the city, the campus of college is very attracting. Number of girl students is slightly greater than boy students. Students in this college are from different religions, castes, native places, social and economic background, etc. As college participate in youth festival organized by university, college encourages all students for participating in extra curricular activities. Sports department of the college is excellent. All the sports are encouraged by the college. Fooball and Handball teams of the college have set records on state and national level. Also New college have won general championship trophy of sport of Shivaji University for 4 consecutive years. Many sports players of college have represented India on International level.

College organizes alumini get together after every thouree years. Different cultural activities are arranged in this function. Also successful aluminies of the college belonging to different fields are invited to interact with students. This encourages students to pursue career in different fields.

New college is one of the reputed colleges in kolhapur and faculty of English department is very good that's why I opt for this college and course. There were 3 merit lists or rounds and also there was 4th round counselling round for the admission process.

Each subject had approximately 30 lectures per semester. The faculty was well qualified. Most of the professors have completed Ph.D and the new professors are pursuing their Ph.D. All of the professors have expertise in their field of subject. Professors are always available for the students to solve their queries. Guest lectures of famous personalities from different fields are also arranged for the students.
