Remarks

Looking back I just want to relieve the moments. The memories in the hostel, the small fights from egos, love stories and loving teachers, staffs.friends that came as stranges and remained as family. The Kid who joined is now a professional who is fighting the surprises of life.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The college is run by a charitable trust and is registered under APJ Abdul kalam technological university. Under which almost all the colleges are registered. All colleges follows the syllabus created by this university which is inspired by India’s greatest university IIT. The college taught me to follow a good time schedule which after joining a corporation I am thankful for. Placement was available and i was placed in a corporation but couldn’t join because of personal issues. Also there is a separate placement department which trains and helps the student in attaining a job. A fun filled industrial visit was made available which will remain one of the greatest memory in my life.

Placement Experience

3.5

As i mentioned above there is a separate placement department. Which make sure enough companies are visiting them and also take the responsibility of training the students to attend interviews and other competitive exams.Well known companies include TCS,Sutherland,Infosys etc.I was placed in sutherland back office operations but couldn’t join due to personal issues.I am not well aware of the percentage of students getting placed. The companies will have 3 rounds, exam, group discussion and personal interview.

College Events

5

The college has a friendly yet highly competitive events these include tech fest, arts, annual day celebrations for both hostel and college also every festivals local national and even international are celebrated including students and teachers also outsiders for some events. The events are pretty famous among the locals also students across the state visit our campus for tech participation and other workshops.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As i mentioned college is run by a charitable association scholarships are given to eligible students and they can study for negligible fees.Follows the government suggested fee structure. Also the hostel facilities are feasible for all the categories and concessions are given to students belonging to economically backward classes.Fee structure is given in their official website and is transparent.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes as I mentioned above the college do provide scholarship opportunities based on various parameters such as economical status, backward classes also the academy performance of the student.the average summary range from 80 percentage waive off to 30 percentage waive off

Campus Life

3.5

Considering all the departments like the gender ratio of Kerala the gender ratio in college was almost equal students were from diverse ethnic groups and social classes and economic classes but none of them were distinguished based on it everyone wear the same uniform and was treated the same.Almost all of the college activities found across the globe Were present in our college there were different departments for dance music start-ups nature and for social activities et cetera. The campus life is one of the most memorable moment in my life which I will never get backAlso the hostel life will always leave a mark in my life

Hostel Facilities

4

I opted for the hostel facility.Room which is big enough is shared by thouree peoples. The college has pretty big hostel for boys and even bigger hostel for girls. In addition mess is also provided. The cost including the food is around Rs.4000. the hostel rooms and the hostel issueItself are regularly cleaned morning afternoon and evening with 4 to 5 cleaning staff who are like Mothers to the inmates.A high-speed Wi-Fi along with play area like pools and a small library with TV are available Along with a beautiful courtyard and indoor badminton Court and a beautiful garden maintained by our Warden

Alumni/Alumna

What is the main aspects of the college life was a vastly supporting group of seniors who always give idea to conduct t programmes when we were students in the college the seniors along with the faculties are still in touch with me

Admission

Mechanical Engineering was the course I always wanted. So after getting enough rank in Kerala Entrance Exam (KEAM). There was an option to select colleges according to our priority. So myself with the help of data from internet ranked colleges based on their lead rank admission previous year. So vidya academy of science and technology was allotted to me.

Faculty

4

Knowledgeable and a friendly faculty who is strict when it comes to academics yet supporting and friendly when it comes to college sports arts and even personal issues. All the HODs have doctorate in their respective fields. All of the professors are from well known institutions and from the same college too most of them have phd too.College is also sponsoring faculties to pursue phd in foreign country which ultimately helps the students they teach.Principal and hods are retired from government offices and government colleges. My group tutor who has 23 years teaching experience worked for TATA.Avg age of professors is 29 and above.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of the college is very active. You can get internships starting 2nd year and placements starting 3rd year. About 75% of people get placed. Many MNCs like Texas Instruments are consistent hirers. The highest package of 2025 for my course is 1 crpa. The average is about 7 lpa. A student can get 5,6 offers. I plan on higher studies abroad because I want to learn more in-depth about the course.

Placements are really good. Since college is related to ISRO maximum students with cgpa above than 7 are elligible for ISRO interviews and are selected based on their performance. Apart from ISRO many campanies like Texas Instruments, UTS, Mercedez , also come here for recruuitment. Many also opt for M.tech and MBA after graduation

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.

Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies - [KUFOS], Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Food Technology)
Reviewed on May 11, 2024(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was never interested in engineering. I passed KEAM entrance exam. So my parents forced me to become an engineer. Since I was interested, I thought food technology might be a good branch in engineering. So I got admission in KUFOS through allotment. The course is actually good . In the 1st year, you study basic engineering, 2nd year onwards food related courses are taught. If you are a student who only have the intention to study you will find this college easy to adjust. They provide all facilities to study. There is no particular frequency for a semester. Even though academic calender is there for each batch it is not followed properly. In this college the course may last upto 4.5 years. Due to this reason the students ask the management to cut shot semester breaks so that they won't loose 1 year.

The most special thing about the college is those memorable friendships with the faculties whos understand students very well.
