Remarks

Overall a good college with reading 8/10. Pros- faculty, placements, infrastructure, crowd, Cons- Fees, strictness.

Entrance Preview

I did my diploma in EXTC previously, hence was a direct second year student. Since, I scored good(86%) in my diploma I easily got admission thorough 1st round of CAP. It was a very easy 1day admission procedure. Just make sure you have all your documents and their attested copies ready. I had done a lot of R&D, from which I got to know that SAKEC(as it is called in short) is a very good college and i should enlist it in my 1st CAP options. Also this institute was near to my home, which saved a lot of my travelling efforts and money.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum was excellent, i liked the way the faculty taught the students, they had very good knowledge if what they lectured. The project environment was also very nice. We had to make almost 4 small projects and 1 final year project. Faculty was very helpful for the projects, they helped us in getting things done. Electives i don't remember exactly, but make it a point that you have little chance to choose what you want to learn, it all depends on majority. So you better analyse the scope of electives and then choose wisely, you can convince though to your fellow mates.

Internships Opportunities

There's no option of internship here, so can't comment on it. If you think that you gonna get good internship then you should try other colleges, but faculty and placements wise it's a very good college in all. Better you focus on studies rather than doing job and earning, enjoy your probable last college days, do good in exams. Earning money will divert your mind from studies and your interest in studies.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements in sakec are very good. They make sure that every candidate is placed, however it depends on the candidate's performance and aptitude where and how he's/she's placed. Companies like TCS, L&T Infotech, Amdocs, Diebold, Tech mahindra do come for sure. You can refer the placement records given on the college site. However, almost 80-90% students who want jobs are placed, most of them do MBA/MS. Average package offered is 2.4-3Lpa. You can get a good start for your career if you are placed in a MNC.

College Events

4

There are festivals like Verve(cultural), fests for technical events, robotic events, rock band events (movie lovers would love this). Many enthusiastic students take part in the fests. Good fashion shows, dance performances. In short, a good place to showcase your talent and skills in management, art, dance, creativity, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees is the main concern of many students belonging to middle class families. Everybody should know that they need to shed around 4-5Lacs for 4 year degree course. People with reservations can cheer a bit. For me it was almost 1Lac per annum, adding other expenses you can total it around to 1.2Lacs per annum.

Fees and Financial Aid

No loan facilities, however you can apply from outside, there are many banks who provide student loans with good interest rates. Talking about scholarships, reserved candidates enjoy a bit with almost 50-70% exemption. Open candidates suffer in this context.

Campus Life

4

Good gender ratio, since it's engg boys are more good crowd, some are hi fi. Sports activities are good. Robotics events are nice, every student can take part. Good diversity and unity amongst students, no gang tiffs, all live happily helping each other.

Hostel Facilities

3

There is no accommodation facility, hostel, etc. If you are from out of Mumbai you need to arrange home for yourselves. Hence, people living in Mumbai only are advised to choose this college. Talking about the food, there's a small canteen which serves decent food, just the space create problems.

Alumni/Alumna

Be connected with the seniors, they help a lot have a mentor selected fot whole of the course. Indulge in activities, take part and make good contacts.

Exam Structure

Infrastructure scored a 8/10 fit this college. It has very good well maintained classrooms, not congested at all. Laboratories were good with proper working devises. It is said that the Microwave lab is the best amongst all colleges in Mumbai. People from other colleges used to come and perform their experiments. I personally enjoyed every experiment, since all the instruments worked finely. Exam structure is also nice, friendly, which u can easily crack and pass with good marks. Don't miss your lectures.

Faculty

4

Talking about faculty, almost 80% of the faculty were nicely qualified to teach the course according to the syllabus. Some even taught beyond syllabus. Faculty from comps and IT were pathetic as I have heard, but faculty from ETRX was excellent. Some of them can even help you with your doubts beyond the lecture timings. The faculty made sure that whole of the course syllabus is properly covered in time, before exams.
