Remarks

Overall our college is like most other colleges of India, yet above many of those colleges in many aspects. The management here is also pretty good but you yourself have to be very active. You should ensure that you get along well with the seniors and professors. They won't come by themselves and pick for any project work on any such things. You will have plenty of opportunities to enhance your skills and yourself as a person. What matters is whether you avail to those opportunities or not.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I believe this is the most crucial part of this reivew. I must tell you that the course curriculum is very well suited to the today's scenario. The subjects and syllabus are so designed that provides you with all the knowledge that you require as a good engineer. You get plenty of choices to select your own subject of interest from 3rd year onwards. But if you believe that what is taught in class is enough to fetch you some good and decent job, I must tell you that you are thinking the wrong way. You have to develop many other skills yourself. If yoh show interest the proffs and seniors will help for sure. But the thing is you have to have knowledge and skill both to get into jobs of any field. Some of the skills you can focus upon are CAD softwares like solidworks, CAE softwares, Coding or else you can enter into the fields of research by collaborating with proffs. I know that Industrial visits are organised but how often, I am not sure about that neither have I got a chane for industrial visit. But you donot have to wait for the college to organise for such vists. With help of few friends you yourself can organise one such trip with due permission from respective proff.

Placement Experience

4

Placement stats here, so far has been very decent. If you manage to keep your grades or gpa fairly good enough and have developed quite a few skills, then its highly probable that you would end up being placed in the very 7th semester. As far as mechanical is concerned companies like bajaj, hero, vedanta, reliance and many other companies visit our campus for placent from 7th sem onwards. Many companies offer internship also for the 3rd year students. On an average 80 %student get placed each year.

College Events

4.5

There are basically two main events held in our college. Technical fest- TECHNOSEARCH Cultural fest- MAFFICK and they really have a lot to offer. You get to participate in various activities and competitions. And froom second year onwards you can get into the organising teams of these events and enhance your management skills or enter into the PR or Hospitality. So they really offer you a lot to learn. Apart from these events there are few societies in our college which hold their own set of events like CHIMERA and TOORYANAD, both at a grand level.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Our fee structure is almost same as in any other Nit or IIt. It is almost one lac fifty thousand annually for a normal student who does not avail to any scholarship and does not fall under any of the caps. Payment are made on the semester basis. Total fee involves the tution fee, hostel fee, mess fee and some other fee(not much) and you get a complete breakdown of the fee you pay during the admission period. Payments are made through sbi online(e challan and some other options are present there).

Fees and Financial Aid

I have not opted for any scholorship and neither am I elligible for one. But there are many students whai have availed some or the other scholarship, either from central government or from their particular state depending on their merit, caste and economic status. I haven't even availed to any kind of formal loan. So I am unaware particularly about this question. But I can assure you that the steps are quite easy.

Campus Life

4

Campus life here in particular is very cheerful. There are plenty of students of all kinds. Gender ratio here is fairly well and mechanical in particular has gender ratio of 1 is to 6. And you can easily find the people of your kind among them. Morever this "my type" thing doesn't limit your friend count. And the hostel life here is simply awsome. We have a lot of societies to join as a member(both cultural and technical). The Gymnasium here is of the top class. It is one of the best of all gymnasium that other colleges has to offer. There are various teams for cricket, Football, Basketball, Badminton, Volleyball, Kabbadi, and many other that our sports club has to offer you. And our teams play various tournaments like inter Nit's and many other. We even have inter hostel competitions.

Hostel Facilities

4

Yes, I have opted for hostel and it's a double seater room. But the 1st year students are alloted 3 seater rooms. And rooms are enough to occupy all of the students. Currently we have 11 hostel in total (one for girls) and the construction of 12th will start soon. Each hostel has a mess of its own and provides decent quality food. The thing to note here is that 1st year boy's hostel is completely seperated from the hostels of seniors.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors here are exceptionally helpful here. You get to learn a lot from them. They are the one who would give you information regarding most extra curricular activities, be it gym selections, sports team selection, recruitment of societies, how you can develop various skills and literally anything. Well I haven't personally met any of the alumni, so I have nothing to share about that. But I do know that knowing some of the alumni can prove to be benificial when it comes to training and placement.

Admission

I got admission through my IIT-Jee Mains rank. I opted for Mechanical engineering because of the everlasting demand of mechanical engineers, virtually in every fied and industry. It is evident that almost all industries have their own mechanical systems that provide job opportunities in the areas including maintenance, design, manufacturing, production and a lot more. These were the more conventional areas. Today there is a vast array of areas wherein a mechanical engineer can get hired. Moreover this course allows us to take up a lot of subjects as a part of curriculum. So there is a lot to learn here. In a broader sense the versatility of this course attracted me to opt this. And choosing this institute was again a thoughtful act on my part. Our institute has been declared of national importance. Moreover the placement statistics has so far been very good here. Our institute also offers very experienced and knowledgeable people as our professors. The steps of admission are not a big deal here, because these are explicitly given out as a brouchure during the councelling period of jee mains which is usually carried out by the JOSSA. And these might change a bit every year but overall the procedure remains almost same.

Faculty

3.5

Tentatively our own department have around 60 lecturers. Some of them are Assistant professor, some are Associate professor and some are Professors. I have been a regular student to the classes which you would find, after joining any college, is very rare trait. And the reason I am regular is that I find most of the lectures quote interesting, indulging and informative. Being honest I would say that most lecturers are quite good in teaching. You can visit our website and find most of the information about our lecturers including their research works, papers published and any industrial exposure that they have had.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum followed by the college is slightly old in comparision to iits and nits but it is better than most of the remaining colleges. But the curriculum could be improved. The curriculum is based on more theoretical approach and less practical approach for some branches. The teaching methodology is good . Teachers use smart boards if they need. The frequency of the exams and msts are good but they also include demo which makes it hectic.
